Many folks here will
remember John and Mary
Neave, Your correspondent
received a letter. from them
last week. At present they
are staying at their
daughters home in Edmon-
ton. Alberta, until New
Years.
Excerpts from the letter
as follows: We were very
happy living in Grand Bend
and being received by
members of the Church,
Women's Institute, Senior
Citizens and United Church
Women. With such helpful
and friendly members, I felt
it may be of some interest
for your newspaper to
receive the enclosed com-
mendation.
Our kindest wishes to
yourself for being so friendly
to us during our time at the,
"Bend".
Very sincerely yours,
John & Mary Neave.
Dear Mr. Neave:-
It. has been brought to my
attention that you were of
assistance to the Edmonton
Police Department on the
6th November, 1980.
I understand that you were
in a store when a male ran
past you and down a
hallway. You became
suspicious and immediately
gave chase and called out for
someone to stop him.
Another person heard your
call for assistance and
managed to stop this suspect
who was held until police
arrived. This accused was
arrested and charged with
break & enter, assault and
possession of an offensive
weapon.
Had it not been for your
alert action, this case .may
not have been brought to a
successful conclusion so
readily.
