Marauders, were on the short
end, of a 5-3 score to the
Hensall'- Sherwoods and the
following night they skated
to a 44 draw with the Zurich
Buckeyes.
Tomorrow night, Thur-
sday, the Marauders will
play host to the Goderich
Merchants at the Stephen
township arena at 8:30 p.m.
and Sunday they travel to
Zurich to meet the Buckeyes
in a Sunday afternoon
contest at 2 p.m.
Three unanswered goals in
the first period provided the
margin of victory as Hensall
beat the Marauders 5-3.
The game was seven
minutes old when Lloyd
Allan put the Sherwoods in
front on an tinassisted effort,
Allan was right back at 10:10
to convert a pass from
Murray Connolly and the.
Hensall club was two goals
up.
With three minutes left in
the opening session, Steve
Knight fired the third
Hensall goal on a pass from
Jamie Caldwell.
Rick Funston broke the
scoring ice for the
Marauders in the first
minute of the middle frame
on a pass from Hugh Wilson
and Jamie Caldwell scored
for Hensall on a three-way
effort with Steve Knight and
Al Bell with five minutes to.
go.
The Marauders came
roaring back with two goals
in the final two minutes. Rob
Funs ton registered on passes
from Terry Underhill and
Dick Lord with Al Taylor of
Hensall serving a slashing
Sherwoods with the assist
going to Dwight Consitt.
Close game
Friday's contest between
the Marauders and the
ZuriCh Buckeyes was close
from, start to finish with only
one goal separating the two
clubs at any time.
Randy McKinnon of the
Buckeyes opened the game
scoring at 7:31 of the opening
period on a pass from Greg
Kirk and four minutes later
the score was tied as Pete
Wuerth hit for Centralia on a
three-way conbination with
Perry Knee and Rick
Funston,
The Marauders outscored
the Buckeyes two goals to
one in the middle session,
Captain Pete Glover 'fired
the first successful shot on
passes from Blair Hearn and
Mark Cronyn at the 28
second mark and Randy
Somerville scored on a solo
dash near the end of the
period.
The lone middle stanza
Buckeye score came from
the stick of Kerry Bedard
with Kris Bedard and Pat
Bedard assisting.
The third period was only
58 seconds old when the
Buckeyes tied the score on
Kris Bedard's counter on a
pass from Pat Bedard.
Zurich moved in front at
9:55 when Kerry Bedard
completed a three-way effort
with Glenn Zirk and Pat
Bedard.
The Marauders tied the
score at 11:02 when Randy
Somerville hit the Zurich net
on an unassisted effort.

bombed Parkhill 7-1 at the
rec centre, Wednesday.
Exeter spotted the visitors
an early one-goal lead and
then came out flying' in the
final two periods to`take the, short-handed Exeter crew
ran out of steam in the final
period and had three scored
against them.
In Sunday's lone game, the
St. Marys atoms trimmed
Exeter by a 5-2 count. Scott
Boyd and Doug Clark scored
for Exeter and Jeff
Dalrymple picked up assists
on both.
In exhibition play this
Week, the local midgets were
dumped 6-1 by the London
Minor Hockey major
midgets and the pee wees
scored a 6-4 win over Mit-
