Sherwoods outscored the
Mohawks two goals to one in
each period.
The Mohawks counted the
first goal of the game when
Allan Knight fired a. suc-
cessful shot at 3:48 of the
first period on a pass from
Luc Gagnon.
Less than three minutes
later the Sherwoods evened
the score on Rick Ingram's
goal with the assist going to
Jamie Caldwell.
Just past the inidway mark
of the opening period,
Ingram scored again CO put
his team ahead for good.
This time Greg Campbell
assisted.
In the middle frame, Terry
Caldwell 'converted a pass
from Dwight Consitt at the 10
second mark to put Hensall
in front 3-1,
Before the second period
.ended, Randy Gilfillan
registered for Exeter on a
pass from Luc Gagnon and
Lloyd 'Allan scored for
Hensall on an unassisted
effort.
The final period saw Terry
CaldWell 'and Murray
Connolly score for Hensall.
Ken Varley and Dwight
Consitt provided assists on
Caldwell's tally and Connolly
scored on a solo dash.
The final Exeter score
came from the stick of Luc
Gagnon on a play started by
Mike Anstett and Randy
Gilfillan while Dave Kin-
sman of the Sherwoods was
off for tripping.
Hensall took four of the six
minor penalties called.

Saints played to a 3-3 tie in
South Huron intermediate
hockey league play at the
Stephen township, arena,
Thursday night.
This week the Marauders
will be in action on three
occasions. Thursday they
Will be in,Hensall to take on
the Sherwoods, Friday they
are in Zurich and Monday
_night they will be at the
Stephen township arena to
play host to the Exeter
Mohawks.
In Thursday's game Ed
Michniewiez .of the College
Saints scored with only 56
seconds left in the third
period to get the 3-3 tie with
the Marauders. Captain Ken
Vanos assisted.
The first period was even
with each team scoring one
goal.
Lloyd Holdbrook counted
for the Saints at 12:50 of the
first period on a pass from
Ed Michnieweiz and only 10
seconds later Matt Muller
tied the score for the
Marauders on an unassisted
effort.
The Exeter Waxers were
the only minor team to gain a
win this week, as they posted
a 3-1 triumph over Lucan at
the rec centre,' Sunday.
Robbie McLelland scored
all three goals- to pace the
win, •
Jim Ahrens and Alan
Blommaert picked up assists
in the victory and Harlen
Tinney recorded the win in
the nets,
Ste've Nixon scored
Lucan's only tally on a play
with Chris McLennan and
Eddie Vankerkoele.
Atoms thumped
The local atoms suffered a
Marauders, Saints tie
The only goal of the middle
frame came from the stick of
Ken,Vano's of the Saints on a
three-way passing com-
bination with Ed
Michniewiez and Mike
Sadler.
The Marauders came
roaring back with two goals
late in the third period and
were ahead 3-2 until
Michnieweiz.'S tying score in
the dying moments.
Both third period Centralia
6-1‘ setback at the hands of
Parkhill in the other Sunday,
tilt at the rec centre.
Robbie McKnight scored
the lone goal for the locals on
a play with Steve' Lingard
and Jeff Hannah.

fired the Exeter goals in the
loss to Mitchell. Assists were
recorded by Steve Prout,
Chris VanGerwen, Randy
Ford, Jamie Chaffe and Jeff
Rowe.
Mites win
The youngest of Exeter's
budding hockey stars took to
the ice, Saturday, and posted
a 5-3 witi Over Hensall in ari
exciting tilt. There were no
end-to-end rushes, because
the little guys used only half
the ice surface, that proving
almost too much for some of
them.
The youngsters range in
age from four to six.
Dan Vanderlaan scored
'three goals for Exeter and
Ryan Linderifield added a
pair.
Mark Dietz, Gary Imanse
and Brian Gardner replied
for the visiting Hensall
crew.

in Shamrock league action.
