The senior class made a
lovely banner for
Thanksgiving and it was
borrowed as part of the
Thanksgiving decorations
by the churches in Zion and
Centralia. Our students
received a thank you note
from the church for allowing
them to use it.
Just prior to Hallowe'en
we went by bus to visit the
farm of Cathy and Andy
Evans in Bayfield.
We also had an excellent
tour of the dairy farm of
Lorne and Marg Hern. They
spent time explaining how
the operation worked and

We were fortunate to have
Jeannette DeVries a student
in the Early Childhood
Education Course at.
Lambton College spend two
weeks with us as part of her
work experience. Jeannette
worked with all the students
and brought some new ideas
to our program,
Y.A.C.M.R. students
joined us on Hallowe'en
and provided an excellent
party, They were in costume
and had organized games
and stories for our group. In
the afternoon several of our
pupils attended the McCurdy
party in the gym. There they
tried their skills at apple
bobbing,' sponge throwing
and the braver ones were

Have 62 at meeting
Dashwood Seniors held
their Meeting Monday, with
an attendance of 62 including
four new members, The
Christmas meeting will be a
dinner December 15 at 6 p.m.
with Mrs. Ken McCrae's
group• in charge of the
program, The Workshop at
Clinton was discussed and
five members, Mrs. Pearl
Miller, Chas. Martene, Mrs.
Ross Love, Mrs. Hilda Rader
and Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan
attended, A donation was
made to the men's club
children's Christmas party.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Rader's group was in charge
of the program and Bunco
was played followed by a
social time.
60th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Ohlen
Truemner celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary
Sunday with an open house
and family dinner at the
community centre. Present
were their family of four
Florence • (Mrs. Gordon
McLeod) and family,
Parkhill; Orville and family,
Greenway; Graham and
family, London and Lyle at
home. They have 8 grand-
children and 7 great grand-
children.
Ohlen and his wife, the
former Ella Desjardine were
married December 1, 1920 at
what is the United church
Grand Bend by Rev. A.Y.
Yager.
• Mr. and Mrs. Truemner
are enjoying fairly good
health and are able to be in
their own home. They were
delighted to have so many
people at open house. A call
from the Queen's. own per-
sonal secretary at
Buckingham palate was
special to them as well as
messages from Joe Clark,
Murray Cardiff and Jack
Riddell and more are on the
way.

Bob Boogernans were
missed in the ones who at-
tended the Hay Township
dinner and dance at the
Pineridge Chalet.

Mrs. Ivan Webber has
returned home following
surgery at Westminster
hospital, London; Mrs.
Vernon Schatz is expected
home from South Huron
hospital, Exeter.
Mr. and Mrs. Adolph
Keller have taken up
residence in London.

in the death of Georgina's
mother, and Ira's sister,
Mrs. Fred (Viola) Teetzel.
Rosanne Russell returned
home Sunday from Victoria
hospital where she had
undergone surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Russell
attended a birthday dinner,
on the weekend for Velma's
mother , Mrs. Edgar Webb,
of St. Catharines.
Jim and Sandra Campbell,
Kim and Kelly, of Exeter,
visited recently with the
girls grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Milton Sweitzer.
Harold and Lucille Vin-
cent, Lori, Michael and
Michelle, attended a family
gathering of about 30
relatives, at the home of
Lucille's aunt and uncle, Mr.
& Mrs. Peter Smith, for the
American Thanksgiving, in
Rodney, Michigan, last
Thursday. Relatives at-
tended from Iowa, Indiana
and other areas of Michigan.
Gloria, Harvey, Kevin and
Dwight Beierling, visited
Friday evening with Gloria's
parents Joyce and Howard
Adkins, and her brother
James of Zurich area and
their cousin Jeff Wareing, of
Kippen.
Former resident dies.
Funeral service was
conducted last Thursday for
Viola Marie (Vincent)
Teetzel, in the chapel at the
Gilpin Funeral Home at
Thedford, Mrs. Teetzel
passed away November 24,
at Bethany Lodge, Lambeth,
on Monday November 24th,
in they 58th year.

grandchild.
Interment was at Pine Hill
cemetery.
The annual meeting for
Whalen Community Centre
was held on Wednesday
evening at the • school.
Hamilton Hodgins chaired
the meeting and nominations
were held for officers for the
coming year.

Another treat this month
was the shelling and popping
of corn that had been grown
in Centralia.
Our students toured the
displays at Centralia College
and come back with pam-
phlets and a cook book. The
students from the Consumer
and Community Studies
Course will be spending
Thursday mornings with us
in the New Year.
Our swim meet at
Vanastra with the Goderich
and Wingham Schools was a
great success. Our students
did very well and brought
home a number of ribbons. A
videotape of the meet was
made and we will be viewing
it later next week.
