Vince said the monies
raised from the campaign in
Exeter, Centralia, Crediton
and Huron Park would go to
further research and
education for the society.
He continued, "Last year
only 7,7 cents of every dollar
was used up in fund raising
costs. The balance goes
directly to research."
Vince said he would like to
thank Don Orth, the College
students and residents of the
immediate area for their fine
co-operation in making the
campaign so successful.
Church bus
ripped off
Only one accident was
investigated by the Exeter
police department this week.
It occurred on Saturday
when vehicles driven by
David Williscraft, Clinton,
and Joyce Chadwick, Huron
Park, collided at the in-
tersection of Main and
Sanders Streets.
There were no injuries and
total damage was listed at
$1,000 by Constable Jim
Barnes.
On Saturday, Constables
Barnes and Kierstead
arrested one male person
and charged him with the
theft of gasoline from a
church bus that was parked
beside the Pentecostal
Tabernacle on Main Street.
The accused is scheduled to
appear in court on December
9.
Also appearing on that
date will be a person charged
with possession of drugs
following the search of a
vehicle by Constable
Kierstead.
Over the weekend, the
local department officers
also charged six people with
various offences under the
Liquor Act and Chief Ted
Day notes that liquor of-
fences are up considerably in
1980 over last year.
He reminds area residents
the festive party season is
approaching and advises
them not to drink and drive
or carry open liquor in their
cars.

Students of Centralia
College of Agricultural
Technology recently com-
pleted the most successful
campaign for the Canadian
Arthritis Society.
Don Orth, director of
student affairs at the college
reported this week that the
1980 total was $2,177. The
figure a year ago was $1,832.
-Orth commented, "I am
very pleased with the
results. I was hoping we
would be able to come up
with an increase to stay even
with an inflation rate of
about 10 percent, but, we are
almost 20 percent ahead of
last year."
representative Louis Vince
echoed Orth's sentiments
saying, "I could have
predicted a successful
campaign as a result of the
great enthusiasm shown by
the students the night before
the campaign."
Orth praised campaign
chairman Dale Donaldson
and Student Affairs
president Jim Coffey for
their efforts. He added,
"They knocked oh every
door in residence to get
enough volunteer can-
vassers."
