Church service on Sunday at
the hour of 1:30 p.m.
The young people's of
Carmel church held a most
successful pot-luck
Hallowe'en supper on
Wednesday evening under
the direction of Miss Mary
Thompson. Everyone was
in costume and the prize
winners were Donna Taylor
and Bruce Thompson,
Games were enjoyed by all
and several prizes were
given out.

Although the Hensall & District Community Centre facility has been
operational since the summer of '78 it wasn't until mid 1980 that the
wheels of fund raising came to a halt when all the funds required to
offset construction costs had been raised.
This is a facility the citizens of this area can be proud am it's one of
the finest facilities of its kind in southwestern Ontario, built entirely
without tax dollars. And which was all made possible through your
generous donations, a Province of Ontario capital grant and Win-
tario proceeds Summarized as follows:

Forest regained the lead
with a goal at the 9:29 mark,
of the final period but goals
by Dwight Consitt and Steve
Knight saw the Sherwoods
regain the lead.
Forest tied the game with
only 55 seconds remaining to
be played.
On Thursday the Sher-
woods faced a fired up
Zurich Buckeyes squad in
Hensall with the home squad
not getting on the score
board until the second
period.
Tending goal for Zurich
was former Exeter Hawk
Randy Lovie who was called
in a result of previous
commitments to other
functions by the two regular
Kim McKinnon and Mike
Clarke had two goals each
for the Bucks.
Defencemen John Graham
scored the first Zurich goal of
the game at 15:23 as he took
passes from Steve Bedour
and Gerald Weido and fired a
shot which eluded Sherwood
goal Steve Sararas.

The Hensall Sherwoods
picked up a single point in
South Huron Hockey League
action thig' past week.
On Sunday in Forest the
Sherwoods and the Forest
Boyds tied 4-4 while on
Thursday the Zurich
Buckeyes defeated Hensall
8-2.
In the Forest game captain
Jim Ferguson lead the way
for the Sherwoods with a pair
•of goals.
The Boyds took a 2-0 lead
after the first period but
Hensall came back to tie the
game midway through the
second frame as they scored
two goals within 25 seconds.
Ferguson picked up both of
the counters with help
Finlayson went with Mrs.
McKinley's ukulele group to
play at the Workshop in
Toronto Saturday.
Mrs. Hank Binnendyk is a
patient in hospital in London.

A large congregation
attended the Hensall United
Church on Sunday morning
when Rev. IVIcDonald spoke
on the subject of "Jesus The
Minimizer" basing his
thoughts on the Gospel of
Luke Chapter Twenty Two.
The choir sang an
arrangement of "Faith of
Our Fathers" by Hampshire.
The Children's story was
about "Wearing a Mask"
and trying to be someone we
are not. The beautiful floral
arrangements were in loving
memory of Cecil Van Horne
placed there by his daughter
and her husband Gerald and
Mary Anne. Flynn. The
ushers for the day were
Dwight Consitt, and Brad
Buchanan, Ross Veal and
Cecil Pepper. Next Sunday
will be Remembrance
Sunday with the members of
the Legion, Legion
Auxiliary, Scouts, Cubs and
Beavers worshipping in a
body prior to the service at
the cenotaph.
The young people's group
met at the United Church on
Sunday evening, following a
discussion and a film on
"Honesty", the group held a
planning session at which
they planned their meetings
for the next number of
months. The meeting closed
with a time of recreation.
The Explorers a new
organization for Hensall and
area girls 9-11 will be star-
ting on Monday November 3
at 4 p.m. at the United
Church and will meet every
Monday at that time.

within two goals of the lead
midway through the second
period thanks to a score by
Terry Caldwell. Knight and
Dave Kinsman assisted.
The Visitors put the game
out of reach with four goals
in the second and third
periods from Randy
McKinnon, Kim McKinnon
and two scores from Clarke.

The Sherwoods final goal
was scored with slightly
over a minute left to be
played as Knight scored an
unassisted effort,
The Buckeyes finished the
scoring off with 11 seconds
left in the game on a goal by
