Mississippi Mud
Base: (Bottom Crust)
1/4 lb. margarine
11/2 c. cake and pastry flour
2 tsp.. iced water
cup chopped nuts
Pat this mixture into 9x12 oblongian.
Bake at 350 for 25 min. Cool,
Mix together:
1-8 oz. pkg. Philadelphia cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup cool whip (use rest in recipe)
1 cup icing sugar
Cream: 2 pkg, of instant chocolate puddings 4 oz. size
with 3 cups cold milk and 1 tsp. vanilla.
Beat and let stand for little while until mixture
thickens a little.
Pour over cheese mixture.
Spread rest of cool whip over pudding mixture.
Sprinkle with grated choc. or nuts.
This is very good but rich.

Refrigeration Torte
1 angel cake, cut into 4 layers 2 eggs (separated)
1/2 lb. butter 2 sq. chocolate (melted),
2 c. icing sugar 1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt 1/4 c. strong coffee
(Beat above ingredients until smooth) and fold in
beaten egg whites. Spread in layers of cake and chill.
Top with whipping cream, or feather icing. Sprinkle
shavings of chocolate bar on top. Refrigerate until
ready to serve.

Southern Apple Fritters
2 eggs 1 c. milk
2 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder 4 c. chopped apples
Beat eggs into milk. Add sugar, melted butter, 1/2 tsp.
salt and mix well. Then stir in flour,' baking powder.
Stir in apples. Drop by tablespoon into hot lard.

Frozen Peach Whip
1 egg white
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1 c. strained peaches (baby pack)
1/2 c. fresh or frozen orange juice
1 tbsp.f'resh frozen or canned lemon juice
2 c. heavy cream, whipped
Turn temperature control of refrigerator to coldest
setting. Beat egg white until stiff but not dry; beat in
sugar and peaches. Fold orange and lemon juice into
cream; fold into peach mixture. Pour into ice cube
tray; freeze until firm, stirring once. Return
temperature control to normal setting.
