Minister of Revenue will be requested to proceed with returning the roll for the township, prepared under Section 86 of the assessment act. Mery Bowen of 'Goderich, regional assessment com- missioner for Huron-Perth and Ken Fagen of the assessment office in Goderich, attended the council Meeting Tuesday and explained the equalized assessment program under Section 86. They said most of the other municipalities in' Huron County have changed over to this method. They offered to arrange' for an open house with Tuckersmith ratepayers so that they could come and talk to an assessment officer to explain the system. At the present time some owners are paying too much tax, and others are not paying enough. Mr. Bowen said the system Baptism at Centralia By MRS. United Senior Citizens of Ontario, was held in DaViwood Community Hail on Wednesday with an attendance of 1$0. and presi- dent, Mrs. Nola Love Con- ducting the meeting. Devotions were conducted by Miss Barbara Laing, of Offer better coverages Ontario Consumer Minister Frank, Drea in- troduced two insurance amendments which will offer better liability protection to victims, of car accidents. An amendment to The Insurance Act will increase the minimum third party liability coverage for 'auto insurance policies from $100,000 to $200,000, The amendment to The Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Fund will increase the maximum amount payable from $190,000 to $200,000. Both amendments are scheduled to take effect March 1, 1981, "The .$100,000 minimum for third party liability coverage has become inadequate because of the effect inflation has had on the cost of medical care as well, as auto repairs," said Mr. Drea. "The $100,006 minimum has not changed since 1977 while general living expenses have in- creased about 30 per cent." Raising the third party liability coverage is expected to increase premiums' for those motorists.who carry only the minimum $100,000 (ap- proximately 19 per cent) by about five per dent. 1 Dashwood United Church, Ken Campbell, Reeve of Stephen Township welcomed the guests. who came from 12 senior citizen clubs in the county.
