Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Elec-
tors of the Township of Hay, in the County
of Huron, that in compliance with the
Municipal Elections Act, 1977, Chapter 62,
and amendments, a Ballot will be held for
the office of:
Councillors Three (3) to be elected
Dashwood Police Village Trustee One (1) to
be elected
Polls will be open as designated below on
Monday, November 10,1980
from 11:00 o'clock in the forenoon to 8:00

the campaign to date at
$627,00. The objective this
year is $1,500.00
The door to door can-
vassing is being conducted In
Henson. by: Women's
Institute, Rebekah Lodge,
Arnold Circle and the
Henson Women's Auxiliary.
Many of the rural residents
have not as yet replied to the
mail campaign, Please

Special women's day service
The special women's day
service held in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on
Sunday was based on the
theme of love.
Mrs. Marlene Bell opened
with the call to worship and
the Lord's prayer in unison.
The scripture was read by
Mr. Gloria Mousseau and the
lesson was read by Mrs.
Linda Crerar, Mrs, Sylvia
Struyf was guest soloist
singing "Love Lifted Me"
and "One Day At A Time"
accompanying on her guitar.
the ladies' choir under the
direction of Mrs. Dorothy
Taylor sang "Wonderful
Love".
Mrs. Janice Baker gave a
poem Love Never Faileth.
Mrs. Aileen Knight was
guest speaker and delivered
an inspiring message on
"God's Love, God's Work
and God's Mercy". Marlene
° Bell thanked everyone
taking part also the guest
speaker and closed the
service with the benediction.
The ushers for the day
were Pat Pollock, Mona
Campbell, Winnie Skea and
Cathy Bell.
Prior to the service a
luncheon was served in the
school-room. The regular
service next Sunday will be
at 1:30 p.m.
The flowers in the sanc-
tuary were placed by the
Riley family in loving
memory of their son and
brother, Ray.
On Wednesday evening the
young people of Carmel
Church had an enjoyable
time bowling. Twenty seven
members attended. The next
meeting will be held on
Wednesday evening October
29 in the school room of the
church. A Hallowe'en
costume party involving a
pot luck supper at 6 p.m.
followed by an evening of
games. New members in-
tending to join please contact

Fly-In well attended
In spite of the inclement
weather a large attendance
were entertained at the Pine
Ridge Chalet on Sunday in
honour of Kay Elder Queen
of the Flying Farmers. One
plane made the fly-in and a
Men luncheon was served to
about one hundred and
thirty-eight persons. The
Queen. of the Michigan
Flying Farmers' and. the
President of the Michigan
chapter were present. Kay
was presented with a. travel
bag. Roger Quick and family
entertained following the
luncheon,

the WMS of Carmel
Presbyterian. Church will be
held on Monday November
3rd at 2: p.m. in the church
school room, followed by the
ladies' meeting, Please note

Make tea arrangements
• The Arnold Circle evening
auxiliary met in the school
room of Carmel
Presbyterian Church on
Wednesday evening with the
president Mrs. Bev Moir
presiding and presenting the
worship. Arrangements
were made for the canvass
for the blind and also the
Bazaar and tea being held on
November 1st. Mrs. Ann
Maxwell was hostess.
Mrs. Carl Payne and Mrs.
Cecil Pepper attended the
Womens Institute London
area convention held in St.
Marys Community Centre on
Monday and Tuesday
October 27th and 28th.
Gospel sing at service
Gospel singing of old
favourites opened the
morning service at Hensall
United Church on Sunday.
A good congregation joined
in with singing the hymns.
During the service the 17
voice choir sang the
beautiful "Prayer of St:
Richard of Chicester" and
the children's message was
on Prayer. Many children
came forward to go to
Sunday School during the
singing of the children's
hymn. The Sunday School is
now bulging at the seams.
The sermon was on "Who
Touched Me", the story of
the woman who had an issue
of blood for 12 years.
The International Bible
Study course continues to
have an excellent turnout. It
meets every Tuesday
morning at 10 a,m, The of-
ficial board and executive of
Hensall United Church met
on Wednesday evening with
17 present. ' Monthly
meetings will continue to be
held the fourth Wednesday of
every month.
Attend rally
A number of the Three
Links senior citizens of
Hensall attended the fall
rally held at Dashwood
Community centre on
Wednesday to last week.
Queensway home to
hold bazaar and tea
The staff and residents of
Queensway Nursing Home,
Hensall wish to welcome
everyone to their Bazaar and
Bake Sale on November 8 at
2.4 p.m. featuring crafts,
plants and baking goods.
Mrs. Shirley Luther con-
ducted the church service at
the home assisted by Mrs.
NanBritton, Unit 1 of the.
Benoit United Church
entertained the residents to.
