hockey teams open their
home seasons this week,
with the new Shamrock
entry from Goderich
providing the opposition in
all the contests.
The pee wees take to the
ice for the first game of the
new season tonight (Wed-
nesday) at 6:30 p.m. and
they'll be 'followed by the
bantams and midgets.
The local novice and atom
teams start their home
season Sunday afternoon.
The novice encounter is
scheduled for 4:00 and will
be,followed an hour later by
the atoms.
Several new coaches Will
making their debut along'
with the players.
Keith Ahrens will be
guiding the novice with Cy
Blommaert as manager.
Frank Boyle returns as the
atom coach with manager
Brian Hodgios.
Bill VanBergen replaces
Lloyd Moore as coach of the
local pee wee club and Kevin
Buchanan is the new
manager. Gar Johnston
takes over the reins of the
bantams and the manager
returning to that position is
Walt Tiedeman.
Jack Fuller and Jack
Underwood ate back guiding
this year's midget entry.
Exeter will be playing in
the northern division of
Shamrock this year with St.
Marys, Lucan, Merton and
two new league entries from
Goderich and Parkhill.
