Dear Parents and Friends:
Again this year we were
invited to display the work of
our pupils at the Exeter

area contribute to the Fair
we are pleased to be in-
cluded. Each one of our
pupils had at least one item

displayed and so the money
received for entering will be
divided evenly among them.
We joined the McCurdy
students on September 10th
to hear Mr. Solway play his
violin and also to watch the
movie in which he portrayed
a man who befriend two
young boys, This Canadian
movie has received several
awards and we will be seeing
it again soon in the
classroom.
Ths McCurdy school has
rented a large classroom to
the Huron Park Nursery
School. We are pleased that
they are able to make ex-
cellent use of our former
fenced in play yard and
equipinent. Since all our
students use the general
playground now this
equipment would not be used
if it weren't for the Nursery
school.
Tom Masse has left CPRI
now and is in residence at
Palmerston. Our students
remembered him on his
birthday and made a card
for him.
Jeffery DeKort has had
minor surgery and is a
patient in War Memorial
Children's Hospital. He is not
expected to remain in the
hospital too long so we hope
he will be back with us soon.
I was able to participate in
a conference in Bracebridge
the end of last week in which
Principals and Head
Teachers for Schools for the
Mentally Handicapped
represented various Boards
across Ontario. There, were
.eicellent presentations on
curriculum, teacher
education, and legislation
plus an opportunity to talk
with Principals from other
areas.
Mrs. MacGregor, Mrs.
Jaques and Mrs. Hodgins
went to London on Sep-
tember 26th and toured
Forest City School. Danny
Deruelle met them there and
showed them through his
new school. Danny has been
writing us regularly and
asks us not to forget him.
A box has been set up in
Mr. Siertsema's office and
the students have been en-
couraged to raise money to
donate to the Terry Fox
Fund. Any of our students
are welcome to contribute to
this fund.
Susan Hemmingway was
a recent participant at a
Y.A.C.M.R. Conference in
Stoufiville. She was invited
to attend by Sheila Eisen-
schink and joined High
School students in attending
the various sessions.
