The Fall -thank-offering
meeting of the United
Church Women was held on
Monday evening with 35
ladies present. Mrs, Barry
Jeffery gave the Call to
Worship "Count Your
Blessings and Not Your
Sorrows", The theme was
"Fulfillment". They sang
Come ye thankful people
Come. Thanksgiving
thoughts were given by Mrs.
Jim Snow, Mrs. Murray
Dawson read the scripture.
She handed out blank papers
and each one was to write
things you. ere thankful for
and not thankful for. We
sang Now thank we all our
God. A skit with Mrs. Jim
Snow, Mrs. Dawson, and
Mrs. Paul Passmore taking
part. Mrs. Passmore and
Miss Jean Coward received
the offering and prayer was
given by Mrs. Jeffery.
All sang Sing to the Lord of
Harvest and Mrs. Jeffery
closed the worship with a
Thanksgiving prayer.
Mrs. Dawson conducted
the business. Roll Call,
minutes, cards of thanks and
the treasurer's report were
received. It was decided to
give the Board of Managers
of the church $1,000.00. The
painting in the auditorium of
the church is finished and
has been paid for. The
meeting was closed with
singing and a prayer. Lunch'
was served by group W along
with the hostess Mrs. Floyd
Stewart.
