GRANTON
World Wide Communion
was observed at the United
Church With the Rev. E.B.
Morden taking as his sermon
title "An Everlasting
Table."
This Communion is special
because the day begins at the
International Date Line near
the Fiji Islands and con-
tinues for 24 hours through
each time zone till it en-
circles the world.
Disciples of Christ the
world over, of every race,
color, culture, nation and
creed, affirm in prayer,
praise and thanksgiving a
common devotion and
loyalty to one who died on a
cross for the World's sins.
In todays world different
interpretations of tradition
and history separate' us,
allowing other gospels such
as Islam and Communism to
be on the march. Jesus
prayed, said Mr. Morden,
before Gethsemane, for the
Spirit of unity in His Church.
May we in our lifetime be
unwilling to settle for
anything less!
Granton Community
Bible Church
Pastor Glen Fretz taught
from Deut. chapter 6 verses
1-9. He challenged the
congregation with this
question. Are you dedicated
in teaching your children the
same Biblical principles that
Moses taught the Israelites
at the end of their forty years
in the wilderness?
He said as parents we are
to teach our children to
revere God and that this
responsibility is life long.
As a parent-teacher we are
to teach diligently from the
heart. We are to encourage
our children to have
meaningful personal
devotions in which they
study God's Word and grow
to love Christ.
Next Sunday in the Special
Thanksgiving service there
will be gospel music
provided by the "New Life
Singers Quartet." Each
family will complement the
thanksgiving theme by
bringing a decorated
thanksgiving basket to the
11:00 a.m. service.
