ANNE WA.I,PER GRE ENWAY The October meeting of the. Greenway U,C.W, was held at the church Wednesday. with Mrs. Pearl Bloomfield and Mrs. Martha Geromette in charge of the Worship. The theme was, "Thank, sgiving", The scripture, the first eight verses of Psalm 107, was read by Mrs. Bloomfield, Mrs. Geromette explained that her love of poetry had been started by a school teacher who asked her to draw the pictures that she saw in a poem. She read "God is there" followed by some lovely Autumn poems, Indian Summer, "October", and "Something told the, Wild Geese", She "then told the "Story of Thanksgiving': She closed with two more poems- "Twas the Week of Thank- sgiving" and. "Fall Ploughing" followed by "The Lord's Prayer" in unison. The president opened the business part of the meeting and Doris EagleSon gave the treasurer's - report. The minutes were -read and approved, The committee who were to look for a vacuum cleaner announced that one had been purchased. The choir sang an anthem and Mrs. Russell Wilson's solo "Someone Bigger Than You and Me" was ap- preciated by her listeners. Centralia and Zion United Churches were well represented at ajoint congregational meeting in the Centralia Church on Thursday evening. Rev. Harley Moore, Grand Bend, chaired the meeting and Rev. Norman Pick of Clinton was the Presbytery representative. A Pastoral Relations Committee was appointed to seek a replacement for Mr. Schott, Ladies are reminded of the U.C.W. meeting in the school room of the church on Thursday evening of this week.
