In present times the clergy follow the lives and teachings of the Apostles - they are the Priesthood of the Laity - they try never to forget the assignments Christ gave to the Apostles. Last Monday Clara celebrated her birthday and along with daughter Bonnie Degas, granddaughters Janet and Theresa and great, grandson Lonnie, all of Sarnia, were supper guests About 05 seniors, took part in a golf tournament at Oak- wood last Wednesday, Captain Alec Cumming said lhathalf of the players were members of the Oakwood club, while the rest travelled from all over southwestern Ontario and parts of Michigan to take part. Guests at the invitational tournament came from London, Sarnia, Bayfield, Aylmer, St. Thomas, Exeter, oronto, Port Huron and Marysville. Cumming said that because of 'the good turn-out this year, they plan to make it an annual event. Players were divided into categories by ages. The youngest player was 50, while,the oldest was 81. Cumming said that the golfing got off to a "shot- gun" start. Everyone went to a different hole in the course, and they all commenced at the sound of a shot gun That way everyone completed the game at the same time, and there was no waiting around, Cumming, explained. - Luke Williams, London, had the low gross score. He was presented with a painting by Grand Cove artist Gordon Lambert, Dan Messeroll of Grand Cove had the low net score and he received book ends donated by Griff Thomas Furniture. In the 57 to nage group, E. ' Lalonde of Sarnia received the low gross score, Bill Keuncke presented a trophy on behalf of Oakwood Inn. The low gross score in the 64 to 69 age group went to R. St, Armond of Sarnia. Local Molsons representative Don Antler presented the trophy. Cumming said that the Maintenance staff at Oak- wood should be commended.
