win in soccer
Dennis Eisenschink
earned the shut-out when
Exeter Peewees rolled over
Taxandria 7-0 in pee wee-
division soccer this past
week. For Exeter, it was a
rebound from a 1-0 loss to
Nairn to previous week.
The score was .5-0 at the
interval, with Lenny Deitrich
opening the scoring at 10
minutes. Joe Martens netted
the ball again two minutes
later, with quick follow-up
goals by Dale Regier and
Marc Winters. Then, with
half-time seconds away,
Sean O'Rourke drifted a long
and high ball into the
Taxandria goal.
In the second half,
Taxandria pressed against a
tight Exeter defence, but
, also got caught for goals by
Brian Topp and Robert Tait,
Rec playoffs
A total of six teams are
still involved in playoff
action in the Exeter and area
men's rec fastball league.
On Monday two quarter
finals in the A and B
divisions were completed
with Hensall defeating
Hurondale 7-1 in an, A
quarter final and McKnights
dumping Gords 7-3 to take a
B a quarter final game.
Both series went the full
three games with Hensall
scheduled to take on the
victor of the Hawks-Crescent
Rolls series.
Les Pines and McKnights
will square off in a best of
three B semi-final with the
first game set to go tonight in
Exeter. The victor in this
series will then take o the
Carpetbaggers who received
a bve.
