The bike-a-then to raise
funds for the Vacation Bible
School was heldWednesday.
Six boys and two girls biked
five miles and raised $138.00.
Refreshments were served
at the halfway point by Mrs.
Allan Finkbeiner, Super-
visors were Mrs, Linda
Finkbeiner and Mrs. Bar-
bara Ratz.
Teachers and helpers are
still needed for the Vacation
Bible School, August 18 to 22.

A congregational meeting
will be held at Zion United
ChurchWednesday evening
August 13 at 8 p.m, in the
Sunday School auditorium to
finalize tenders for the
repair of the tower and
eavestroughing.
Achievement Day
Wednesday the 9-H
homemaking summer club
held their achievement day.
The Crediton Bush Babies
hosted the event at the
Crediton Conservation Area.
The girls conducted a
treasure hunt and a get
ac quainted game, Water
balloon , hot potato. •
Co unty honors was
presented to. Robin PreaCe
for six clubs , Advanced
honors went to Donna Wilson
for 4omplieting 18 clubs, Mrs.
Cliff Kenney was presented
with a 15 year leadership
certificate.
The girls presented Mrs,
Kenneyand Mrs, Glenda.
Wuerth with a ceramic
plates for leading the
Crediton club. The leaders
wish to thank the girls for
their thoUghtfulness.

The large barn on the farm
of Pat Marrinan was
destroyed by fire early Mon-
day morning. A passing
motorist noticed the fire and
wakened the family. They
were able to get all the cat-
tle out but a large quantity of
feed was lost. Cause is un-
known.
The Clarence Carter fami-
ly was in Wiarton for the
weekend to take part in the
Wiarton Centennial parade
with their old car depicting
the "Clandeboye
Hillbillies."
They received first prize
for the most unusual single
entry also for the most
humorous entry. While there
they visited with Allan and
Rowena Tindall.
Pembroke and Mrs, Eunice
Whalen of Cobden, for a few
days last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Glanville and family have
returned home from a 10 day

month in her home in

Mrs. Hornell who is 94 is
still enjoying good health
and pleased to be back for a
visit with all her old friends
and neighbours.

of Michigan spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Raycraft and Monday
all attended the Dutton
Highland Games.
trip to New Brunswick where
they visited Jerry and
Joanne Acton and family,
They then travelled to
Nova Scotia and Fringe
Edward Island. On the way
home they travelled through.

with Wayne's aunt. Data. Ringlanttin Rochester, New
York and then came home
through, Niagara Falls.. The
weather and scenery Was.
terrific.
