LLL hold meeting La Leche League of Huron Co-South met last month at the home of Mrs. Pat Jewitt, RR 4, Clinton to discuss the act of breastfeeding and overcoming difficulties. The leader, Mrs. Peter Bisback of Hensall welcomed women and some nursing babies who travelled from as far as Goderich and Crediton, to the second in a series of four get-togethers intended to give information and provide support to those women interested in breastfeeding their infants, The greatest difficulties mothers met were at the time of the birth and during the hospital stay. Sometimes women decide at the very last moment they would like to nurse their infant and find they lack the necessary prepreparation to get off to a good start, During pregnancy it is a good idea to do some reading. There are many fine books such as "Nursing your Baby" by Karen Pryor as well as "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" which are available to women through La Leche League's loan library.
