Exeter Saveway scored a
convincing 17-4 win over the
Lieury Jets in their only
start this week in the South-
western Fastball
Association.
The. Saveway club was in
Ailsa Craig last night,
Tuesday and tomorrow
night, Thursday they will be
at Exeter Community Park
at 9 p.m, to play host to
Sylvan.
Saveway opened the
scoring in the top of the first
as Gary Skinner and Jamie
Eveleigh singled and. Brian
Hodgins blasted a moonshot
home run to left field.
Lieury replied with one
run in their half as Jim
Allison scored.
Saveway added three
more runs in the second as
Dennis Bierling singled, Dan
Heywood and Noel Skinner
reached first on errors and
Gary Skinner singled.
They went ahead 8-i in the
third as Paul McKnight
walked, Dennis Bierling and
Cosmos win
over Ilderton
Exeter Cosmos got goals
in rapid succession to beat
Ilderton 5-2 in mosquito-
division soccer. Wednesday,
in Ilderton.
Darrell Coleman and Ken
Boersrna had a pair each,
and Mark Winters a single
score in the win.
In the first half, Exeter
goals went in at 20. 22 and 23
minutes from Winters,
Coleman and Boersma
respectively. During the se-
cond half, Ilderton scored at
18 minutes, and at the 19th
and 21st minute of the half it
was Coleman and Boersma
replying again for Exeter.
Ilderton's second marker
of their 5-2 lops was scored
at 33 minutes of the final
half.

The Crediton Cowgirls
downed Lucan by a score of
16-9 in district ladies fastball
play in Lucan Thursday
night.
The Cowgirls will play in
Huron Park Monday night at
9:00 p.m. against the St.
Peter's ladies.
In Thursday's game
each team scored four runs
in the first inning. Shelley
Weber's double was the big
hit for Crediton while
Lucan.
Singles by Carol Stuart
and Barb Wein produced two
Crediton runs in the top of
the third and Darlene Smith
singled to drive in Sue
Rollings to again tie the
score for Lucan.
The Cowgirls moved
ahead to stay in the third on
three runs powered by hits
from the bats of Merna. Scott
and Barb Wein. Diane Park
singled and scored a single
Lucan run in the bottom of
the same inning.
A five run outburst by
Crediton in the fifth decided
the outcome with Deb Lord's
home run being the big blow.
They scored single runs in
the sixth and seventh with a
triple by Lord and a single
by Weber.
Lucan countered with two
markers in the fifth by
Darlene Smith and Angie
Ryan. Diane Park and
Marilyn Smith counted the
final Lucan runs.
Deb Lord was the winning
pitcher for Crediton and
Karen Leitch took the loss
for Lucan.
The Cowgirls would like to
thank everyone for coming
out to their fund-raising
dance Friday night. It was a
success and they hope
everyone had a good time.
The Cowgirls would

Darrel Finkbeiner and Scott
Eveland for all the work put
into the dance beforehand to

The Dashwood Tigers
were on the winning end of
two of three senior baseball
games played this week.
Tuesday night, the Tigers
squeaked past the London
Servicemaster juniors by a
score of 1-0 and on the
weekend they split an
exhibition series with the
Walsingham Senators.
Walsingham was vic-
torious in Dashwood Friday
night and the Tigers came
back with a 2-0 shutout in
Walsingham, Sunday af-
ternoon.
Southpaw John Bruijns
was on the mound Sunday
holding Walsingham
scoreless and allowed only
three hits. He recorded a
total of eight strikeouts.
The first Dashwood score
came in the second inning
when Glen Thurman led off
with a walk, moved up on
Dan Heywood's sacrifice and
scored on Jim Guenther's
sacrifice fly.
. The scoring was com-
pleted in the Tiger third
when John Bruijns singled
and scored without the aid of
a hit.
The Tigers managed two
base runners in the fourth
and loaded the bases in the
fifth, but, were unable to
score.
Dan Heywood and Jim
Guenther singled in the
fourth and hits in the fifth
were delivered by' Jim
Dietrich, Glen Thurman and
John Bruijns.
In Friday's loss to
Walsingham, Dan Heywood
and Jim Guenther shared
pitching chores for
the Tigers.
Dashwood scoring opened
in the first frame when Jim
Dietrich drew a walk, stole
second and scored on Bob
Hoffman's single.
In the Tiger second, a
single by Kevin Bestard and
three walks allowed a single
run.
