Crediton couple make music debut area at 7 p.m. Please bring your lawn chairs. In case of rain it will be held at the Crediton Community Centre. Master Allan and Miss Arlene Cottel have returned home from a week's holiday with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Caldwell and family, Blyth. About 55 people enjoyed the music of Country Unlimited on Saturday evening at the first dance held in the new Crediton Pavilion . Another fund raising dance will be held on August 23. ONTARIO SCHOLAR — Robin Elizabeth Wade, daughter of Bob and Ida Wade, Ancaster, has graduated from Ancaster High and Vocational School as an Ontario Scholar, At the graduation ceremonies, June 25, she delivered the valedictory address to the 352 graduating students. Robin will enter the University of Western Ontario Nursing program in September. She is the grand-daughter of Mrs. John Wade, Crediton, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Blanchard, Exeter. Mrs. Bill Hazelwood and son Bill, Detroit visited last week with Mrs. J. McCor- mick. Mr. Wilbert Kirkby has returned home from visiting friends in St. Catharines. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Ballard and Craig. Mississauga spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Rea Stephen. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Marshall and family, Kitchener spent a day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Marshall. Misses Andrea and Maureen Blackler are atten- ding Huron Church Camp at Hayfield this week. By MRS. PETER MARTIN CREDITON The Double G's made their first appearance at the Huron Holstein twilight meeting on the farm of Con Eckert, Seaforth Wednesday evening. The Double G's Gloria Martin and Glenn Hodgins entertained about 150 people with Country and Western music. Those attending from the Crediton area were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hodgins, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hodgins and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Martin and Ruth Anne. Miss Lisa Martin has returned home from a week at Camp Menesetung. The Zion United Church Vacation Bible School needs teachers and helpers. The Vacation Bible School will be held August 18-22 ending with a Sunday School picnic on the following Sunday, August 24. If interested in helping the V.B.S. staff, please call Mrs. Linda Fink- beiner or Mrs. Thelma Fink- beiner. A congregational meeting will be held August 13 in the Sunday School auditorium at 8 p.m. This meeting will decide as to the contractors for repair of the church tower and painting of the eavestroughing. Achievement night for the Crediton area will be held Wednesday evening July 30 at the Crediton Conservation Centennials whip Park Exeter Centennials defeated Huron Park Rangers 6-1 on the Rangers' home grounds in Ausable district soccer. Sunday. Mike Janyu had two of the goals. Singles were scored by Dick Lord. Alfons Weer- sink, Murray Stewart and Gerald Weersink, The Park's only goal, and the one which started the scoring, went in at 10 minutes of the first half from a penalty-kick taken by Paul VanDeWalle. But at the end of the half, Exeter. who attacked almost continuously, had an edge of 2-1. on Lord's score from a scramble at 20, and a goal off a driving shot by Alfons Weersink at 40 minutes. In the second half, Janyu had picture goals at 50 and 80 minutes. They bracketed one by Stewart. who volleyed in a crossed ball from Paul Van Esbroeck at 75. With less than five minutes to go. Gerald Weer- sink finished the scoring cleanly by striking a curving and rising ball into the Park's net. The Centennials' next game is at home at Canner's field this coming Sunday, August 3.
