But some people don't seem to know that they can't take a job and collect benefits without telling us they're working. That's why employers are being asked to send us the starting date and Social Insurance Number or extracts from computer payroll tapes for each employee they hire or rehire. This information is cross- checked with the Social Insurance Numbers of people receiving unemployment insurance benefits. Only cases of potential abuse will ever surface. After inves- tigation, anyone found receiving benefits to which they are not entitled will have to repay them. It may be an honest mistake. Some people forget or don't understand they must tell Unem- ployment Insurance and report their total earnings when they start Social Insurance Numbers of newly-hired employees are now being cross-checked with those of people receiving unemployment insurance benefits, Only cases of potential abuse will ever surface. a new job. AAORENZ More than 7Q attended the annual Coleman reunion Picnic, held Sunday 41Y 20, at Stanley township park. Swimming and visiting were enjoyed in the af- ternoon, After a bountiful smorgasbord supper, President, AMA McKinley' conducted a short business meeting. Officers elected for 1981 are, president, Paul Betties; 1st vice president, William Coleman; 2nd vice president, Ernie Talbot; treasurer, Gladys Doig; secretary, Annie Morenz. Spurts were conducted by Lorne and Barb Gackstetter, Children's race winners were, Julie nettles, Rob and Pam Gackstetter, Tom Laing and Tammy Alexander. A candy scramble was held for the small children, Water balloon throw won by Bev Coleman and Tammy Alexander, Adults sports winners, water balloon throw for couples won by Brian and Linda Wilson; men's race won by Dave Renner; ladies kick shoe, Lorraine Betties; dress up, Anson McKinley team; best dressed man, Tom Laing; toilet tissue length of arm won by Vietta Hoggart and Jim Chapman. Sports were conducted by Ann Russell and her helpers, Joan Sweitzer and Sharon Baker. Guessing number of jelly beans in a jar was won by Bill Finkbeiner. Paper bag blowing was won by Chris Schtebel. Children's games were three-legged races, bubble blowing, paper plate race and candy scramble. Obstacle course and straw relay games proved fun. They also attended two' of ,the Expos ball games while in Montreal, Marjorie Adams, of Exeter, and Annie Morenz attended the Mary Hastings Reunion picnic, held last Saturday at Springbank park, held in connection with the City of London's 125th anniversary. Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Morenz were on the executive of the "Huron Waves" club some years ago, and enjoyed meeting old friends, Special en- tertainment was given by Piper Tom McPherson. "Christmas" in July was celebrated Sunday at Shipka Community centre when Mrs. Angeline Scott was hostess for a supper meal for about $0 members of her family. Mrs. Doris Sweitzer, visited last week in Welland with her mother Mrs. Elsie Comfort, and her sisters in that area too.
