4-H club meet .
The Grand Bend 4-H Clubs,
one and two held a joint
meeting last Tuesday
evening in the Legion hall.,
Jim Hoffman, of Dash-
wjood was their guest
speaker on first aid with
helpful hints of what to do for
burns, cuts, poison ivy and
broken bones. Jim had a
mannequin on which he
demonstrated the technique
used when a person is
choking, and the girls had a
chance to practise this
procedure as well.
Discussion at this meeting
centred on what to pack for a
camping out weekend. '
Do-nuts and coffee were
served for lunch refresh-3
ments.
The two clubs, with 15 girls
and leaders spent the
weekend camping in the
Pinery Park.
They cooked their meals
on,a camp fire as part of
their "Outdeor living
project."
Games, swimming, walks
and a. trail tour with a guide
were enjoyed by all.

Rev, Eliazer Mdobi, of
Tanzania, who is executive
secretary' of the Church of
God in Tanzania, spoke at
the morning service Sunday,
He said Church of God work
was started by Canadians in.
Tanzania, and he also said
how much they appreciate
the work of the Stan.
Desjarcline family, presently
serving there,
Mrs. Remana Mdobi,
spoke to the Sunday school
children, Sunday morning at
Church of God. She told them.
that Tanzanian children
work and live at home till
age nine 'or ten before at-
tending, • school. She
demonstrated carrying a
pail of water, three quarters
lull on her head and she said
by the time Tanzanian
children are five, years old
they have been taught to
carry and balance a full pail
of water on their heads.
Mrs. Mdobi is the mother
.of six girls and she had her
youngest child, seven
months old Lirna with her,
Rev, MOW, has been
doing further studies in
United States, Mrs. Mdobi
and Lima joined him in June
for a holiday, and to attend a
world Mission convention in
Anderson Indiana.
Church of God ladies met
Thursday evening, at the
church for a work meeting,.
Roll call was to bring in
items for the lawn sale,
After a short period of
devotions ;the ladies spent
their time marking and
pricing articles for the sale.
The Church of God lawn
sale was held, astSaturday,
and was quite successful,
They wish to thank all who
brought in articles and
helped in, any way.

Rev, Doidge, of Montreal
was the celebrant for the
8:30 Communion service,
Sunday morning at, St.
John's Anglican church, ,
Rev. George Anderson
conducted the 9:30 a.m.
service and based his ser-
mon on the quotation,
"Elijah was a man of like
nature as ourselves." He had
performed many miracles,
but he became discouraged,
God, spoke to him and he
was given encouragement to
go on, RmAnderson said we
must not give up, God is
always there, giving us
encouragement, hope and
inspiration,

"Things", and "Shepherd of
Love,!' acocompanied on the
organ by Irene Kennedy.
