have been busy working in
their vegetable gardens at
the side of the apartments as
well as maintaining
flourishing flower gardens
by their patios.
When the Crestwood Home
held openn house many took
a van ride to attend and
carried on into London for
shopping, A picnic was also
enjoyed by the seniors at
Springbank Park.
The Sunday evening
worship services have been
well attended. Retiring

Rev, Alex Simpson, spoke
recently at a service and Don
MacDonald of Ailsa Craig
sang.
The month climaxed with
a celebration in honour of
Mrs. Pascoe who was
celebrating her birthday

a highlight in the community
and anyone who is interested
in participating in a Shuf-
fleboard Tournament which

Many enjoying
Bible classes
An average of almost 175
children attended the first
week of the Nairn Daily
Vacation Bible School last
week.
Each morning the children
meet at the Nairn Mennonite
Church for an opening
worship under the guidance
of Ruth Smith. This year the
worship theme is The Ten
Commandments and
children are busy learning
songs with. "catchy " tunes
as they learn the com-
mandments and their
meaning.
Twelve classes then meet
at the church and the East
Williams Public School for
their Bible stories, further
songs and activities. The
children meeting at the
school are transported over
by bus and retained back to
the church again shortly
before 11:30 to pick up the
remaining children before
being transported home
again.
Dave Brunner, Pastor of
the Nairn Mennonite Church,
is again acting as Director of
the community Bible School.
A special evening is being
planned for Friday at 8 p.m.
to conclude the two weeks of
learning. The children will
present a program for their
parents and friends in the
auditorium of the East
Williams School and the
community is invited to be
present.
