The theme for the day was
The Circus. Employees
contributed stuffed animals
to the display and on either
end of the room were clowns
on trapezes. The room was
decorated with streamers
and balloons which the
employees helped to put up.
Signs reading, "Caution,
wild animals, Do not pet!",
and "Please don't feed the
animals," adorned the walla.
The purpose of the open
house, held twice a year, is to
educate the public about
what the employees at ARC
can do and to sell their lawn
furniture and ceramics.
Staff member Vicki
McLeod said that the last of
the ceramics were on
display. She said that when
ARC first started up the
employees had the time to do
lots of crafts, But now they
are getting lots of contract
n
worn and haven't ea MO
.0:114 for them.
*$.144044009 said that
there Iva a very good
market r for ceramics
anymore because too many
people are making. their own.
have. to come up with.
a new and unique craft," she
said.
Most of the work done at
ARC is contract work. But.
ARC does make and sell its
own Cedare brand name
lawn furniture. Mrs. McLeod
said that they have done.
really well with the lawn
furniture and find it hard to keep up with the orders..
Alscifor sale'at the open
house were fruit leaves
made by the food services
department. The bake shop
supplied donuts.
Pamphlets en. the
prevention of mental Nut-
dicaPPisin were on display. !ammusummemliminswillismslinutiiiiiiiimussiusuoinsimultisisitimisinsul n
