During the excitement of preparing for
Homecoming '80 a very important event was
overlooked. Our principal, Joe Wooden has
completed 25 years of being a friend of the
students at SHDHS.
In his 'capacity as a teacher and a principal
Mr. Wooden has always displayed a special
interest in student activities at our school. We
appreciate everything you've done for us and
helped us achieve.
We would also like to thank Mr. Wooden for
his co-operation in preparing for Homecoming
'80.

Ausable soccer at Arkona,
Sunday.
The Exeter win, on goals
by Alfons Weersink and Wes
Abbott, also ended an un-
beaten run by Taxandria.
The Falcons had an early
season record of five wins
and two ties, against the
Centennials' two wins, four
losses and draw before
Sunday's turnaround. The
Centennials had been having
problems linking things
together.
On the previous Sunday,
the t earn dropped a 2-1 game
to Forest, although playing
extremely well. This past
Sunday, however, the club
seemed able to put
everything into place.
Alfons Weersink sent
Exeter ahead at 35 minutes
by driving a rebound low and
hard into the Taxandria net.
At 55 minutes, Wes Abbott
collected Exeter's second
goal by stroking home a ball
passed across from touchline
to the far post by Murray
Stewart and Alfons Weer-

Taxandria was kept off
balance most of the game by
Exeter's continuous
pressure. When occasional
chances did come, the
Falcons were either
grounded by the Centennials
defence, or by the solid work
of goalkeeper Rick Helm.
The Centennials now have
two Sundays off, prior to a
mid-season tournament on
July 13. League play
resumes July 6, following the
holiday weekend. But the
sixth is also an open date nr
Exeter, due to scheduling
arrangements in the nine-
team league.
