Mrs. Jean Carey hosted
the June meeting of the
Marion Ritchie Evening
Auxiliary at her home June
10 with 12 members present.
Mrs. Carey presided
opening with some verses
from the book of Colossians
and prayer. Hymn. 465 was
sung. The Scripture was
read by Mrs. Norman
Harburn, Mrs. Carey led in
prayer. For her topic Mrs,
Lloyd Miller gave an in-
teresting reading on Love
Divine all Love Excelling.
Chapter 4 on the Study
book on Human Rights en-
titled Economic Rights was
given by Mrs. John Tem-
pleman and Mrs. Eldon
Allen read a poem Pioneer
Paths as her special number.
The Thanksgiving meeting
was discussed. when Mrs.
Harry Strang our
Presbyterian visitor will be
guest. Entertaining this, fall
was also discussed.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Douglas attended the
graduation of their daughter
Kathy on Wednesday at the
University of Western.
Ontario. Kathy graduated
with her Bachelor of Science
in. Economics.
Mr. and Mrs, Rob Tern-
pleman, Carrah and Cain
spent the weekend in Guelph
with Miss Carol Stewart.
Miss Mary Jane Tern-
pleman was an attendant at
the Kreuter - Chessel wed-
ding in Rostock United

Congratulations to Willis
Desjardine who won second
place in the fiddling contest
last weekend in Hensall, in
the Class B 35-55 age group,
Willis was a guest on the
GRADUATES — Linda
Marie Webster, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Grant R.
Webster of Varna, received
an honours degree of
Bachelor of Arts in French
Language 'and Literature at
the Spring Convocation of
the University of Western On-
tario on June 13. Linda
graduated on the Dean's
Honour List and was award-
ed the Huron College Gold
Medal for the highest stan-
ding among students
graduating in the Honours
program. In the fall, Linda
will continue her studies at
the Faculty of Education,
Althouse College, London.
Jimmy Phair, country and
western T.V. show. The show
was taped last week and will
be shown on Channel 9,
Windsor, in September.
Last Thursday evening,
Willis, and his musical
friend, Carl McNaughton, of
Lucan, were 'guests on the
hour long, radio BX93 FM
station, London, discussing
the theme of Old time
Canadian type fiddling.

the past two weeks have
been at the Majestic
Women's Institute, Brussels,
Public schools in Exeter,
Clinton, Vanastra, Zurich,

Central, Gorrie, Robertson
school and Colborne Central,
Goderich.

who has been training with
Canadian Forces at Camp
Borden, has graduated and
is now posted to Winnipeg.
Cindy spent the weekend
with her parents, Willis and
Ella Desjardine. Other
visitors, Sunday, with the
Desjardine family were,
Alvin and Clara Statton,
Grand Bend, Marian and
Ricky Horner, Parkhill, and
Jimmy Phair of Courtright.
Honour octet member
Fermon and Leota Snyder,
attended a retirement party
for Miss Edna Weber, at
Sterling Mennonite church,
Friday. Edna and Leota
were members of a singing
octet group of this church for
many years.
Sunday dinner guest with
the Snyders was Rev. D.L.
Howlett, of London.
Walter Russell passes
away
Members of the Russell
family here attended the
funeral last Wednesday of
Cliff's father, Walter
Russell, of Essex, Service
was from the Kennedy
funeral home with interment
at North Ridge cemetery,
Essex. Survived by one
daughter (Mildred) Mrs.
Winston Baldwin, of Cottam,
five sons, Cliff, of Shipka,
Everett of Detroit, Robert of
Windsor, Earl of Essex, Ivan
of LaSalle. Predeceased by
his wife, also one daughter,
Stella and two sons Norman
and Ray.
Mr. Russell was in his 91st
year, and also survived by 30
grandchildren and 31 great
grandchildren.
The eldest grandson from
each family acted as
pallbearers.

University hospital, London
as result of a tractor ac-
cident.
Mrs. Doris Sweitzer, ac-
companied by Mike and
Bonnie Erickson spent the
weekend in Welland with
relatives and attended a
baby shower for Doris niece,
Sandy Anger. The gathering

Bonnie with a baby shower
for her.
