over Kincardine in Western
Ontario Athletic Association
play in Kincardine Sunday.
The juveniles will be back
in action Saturday when they
travel to Walkerton.
Base hits from the bats of

Becker sent the winning run
across the plate for Exeter in
the ninth.
The first three runs for the
locals came home in the
second inning, on the strength
of singles by Dave Atthill,
Kevin Easterbrook and
Brian Mercer.
Dave Bogart and Mercer
singled and scored in the
Exeter fourth to complete
their team's scoring until the
winning run in the ninth.

Exeter Cosmos won 6-3
over AC Nairn-One in
mosquito -division soccer at
Nairn, Wednesday.
Brian Topp had three
Exeter goals, with singles
going to Mark Winters, Ken
Boersma and Alan Van-
derlaan. Even so, the
Cosmos had about an equal
number of shots deflected by
goalposts and crossbars
while dominating the game.
It was 2-2 at the half, with
Nairn drawing even on
Exeter goals at five and 15
minutes by Winters and
Topp.
'In the second, Topp scored
at one and 13 minutes of the
half to sandwich a goal at
three minutes by Boersma.
Nairn got their, final at 25
minutes. Then Alan Van-
derlaan closed things off
with the last Exeter score at •
34 minutes.
Slo-pitch
a success
The fourth annual Kirkton-
Woodham slo-pitch tour-
nament held this weekend
proved to be very succeseful
with a team from Hamilton
taking the top spot.
In the A division final,
Dofasco. ' Steel defeated
Floral CrAft of Stratford 5-0
to take the A championship.
In the A semi-final, Floral
Craft edged Crediton 5-4 and
Dofasco defeated London
Catholic Teachers 9-3.
Taking the B final with a
19-9 victory over Varna was
Kirkton.
Kirkton found themselves
in the B final as the result of
edging Mothers' Pizza of
Stratford ,9-8. In the other
game, Varna had defeated
Kist of Stratford 21-6.
Kirkton's Rick Bradford
was the most gentlemanly
player in the B final.
The 16 teams entered
came from Stratford,
'London, Kirkton, Varna,
Crediton, Weston and
Walkerton.
Shapton wins
Wilfred Shapton was the
winner of Tuesday's regular
jitney at the Exeter lawn
bowling club with two vic-
tories, an aggregate of 30
and a plus of two.
Deadlocked for second
spot were Lawrence Wein,
Evelyn Scott and Beth
Batten with identical 25
aggregates to go with double
wins.
I Next came Lawrence
Russell and Tom Walker
with 24 aggregates and Rose
Blanchard and Anna
Ballantyne with scores of 19.
Saturday night's winner
was Lillian Pym with two
wins and an aggregate of 28,
.one more than runner up
Stan Mitchell.
Next on the prize list came
Sam Bower, Charles Hendy,
Beth Batten, Leone Brock
and Ella Warrender.
Dawe winner
at Ironwood
Claude Dawe fired a round
of 36 to win low gross
honours in the "A" flight of
Tuesday's men's night at the
Ironwood golf course. Gabby
Mol was the low net winner.
In the "B" flight Bill
Farquahr's 39 was tops
followed by Scott Burton.
Best in low net were Ross
Mathers and Brad Murray.
Clarence Ferguson and
Bob Swartman shot 47's to
lead in. the "C" flight with
gross scores while Ray
Heywood and Hal Walsh
were low in net.
In the "D" flight Van
Tuckey and Ken Varley took
gross and net honours,
respectively,
