Continued from page 15 towards herself and. others, but also a noticeable dif- ference in the attitudes of the male students. It is no longer unusual to see female students in the shop, classes at wheal, and although we have few (it any) males in the home ec, • classes, many of the guys take Theatre Arts (a class which was once considered "sissy"), Even though I'm sure many girls will disagree with me here, the guys do have a more open attitude towards us. No longer are there girls waiting around for the guys to finish football practice. Now the girls are involved in sports and other activities and often the couples one „, see's around the school are rarely together, except the weekends. There's just too much other stuff to do. Along with all the big issues, quite a rumble has been heard, this past decade from parents who object to what books their children are reading or what movies the school brings in, Arguments have also haired up between students and staff as 'to whether the students should be allowed to wear shorts in the spring and early summer (to school). Dances, concerts and school trips are just a few items - that will never cease to draw some unfavoratism frona parents and teachers. Despite all the changes, I feel that we, the students, probably haven't really differed that much from the students 20 years ago. We still rush to get all our homework done before. Friday night, We still hope and pray that we don't have to write any exams at the end of the year, We still want to read the books and see the movies that no one else wants us to. But most of all, we dream, like everyone else once did, about what's ahead, of us. Whether the changes that have occurred the last 70 years are for the betteror not is up to each of You. But no matter what has happened, what good or bad things people have to say about the students, we'll always have our dreams. And evolution can't take that away from us, H-P CURLING CHAMPS IN 1973 — The South Huron bays curling team won the 1973 Huron-Perth Conference championship.
