BOWDEN -CENTRALIA A men's choir under the direetion of Douglas Gill honoured Father's Day by providing special music for the Sunday morning service in the United Church. The sermon topic was "The Parable of the Hidden Treasure." Personals Mr. and Mrs, Lewis Tasko, Mary Lou and Stephen at- tended the Spring Con- vocation at the University of Western Ontario, Friday. Patti Tasko graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree, specializing in English and History. She has returned to the University to study for her Masters Degree in Journalism. Scratch & Dent SALE By MISS JEAN COPELAND WOODHAN The June Woodham U.C.W. meeting was held on Tuesday evening in Woodham United Church as a reunion of U.C.W. from 1962-80 with an attendance of 57 sitting down to a delicious smorgasbord supper with group 1 in charge. After the meal Mrs. Fred Parkinson conducted a few contests, Mrs. Lloyd Jaques, the president welcomed everyone and Mrs. Oscar Brine had charge of the worship service opening with all singing How great Thou Art. Mrs. Brine read the scripture. Mrs. Lloyd Cowdrey favoured with a solo "God is good to me." A skit "The Years that Count" was presented by four members, Mrs. Charles Webb, Mrs. Reg McCurdy, Mrs. Duncan McNaughton, Mrs. Ordell Webber, Hymns "Jesus loves me", "0 Jesus I have promised" were sung and also a duet with Mrs. Glenn Copeland at the organ and Mrs. Ted Insley at the piano. A poem, "The four seasons - Springtime, summer, autumn and winter was read by four members. Amazing Grace was sung, followed by receiving the offering taken by Mrs. Gordon Johnson and. Mrs. Fred Parkinson and Rev. Camillia La Rouche giving the dedication. Mrs. Oscar Brine con- ducted a resume of the years 1962-80 with each of the Presidents of those years reading the activities during their term of office con- eluding with a show of cards spelling out Woodham U.C.W.
