Bride-elect at Shipka
is honored at showers

Gloria Beierling was
hostess at her home Friday
night, for a grocery bridal
shower, in honor of her
sister-in-law, Freida
Beierling, bride elect later
this month. Around 30 neigh-
bours friends and relatives
attended. In the social time
contests were enjoyed.
Freida graciously thanked
everyone.
Earlier, at the latter part
of May, Mrs. Zelma Gar-
diner, of near Exeter, hosted
a miscellaneous shower for
Freida, for about 30 friends.

The first meeting of the
Dashwood two 4-H club was
held Thursday at thehome of
Mrs. Ray Rader, The name
of the project is 'Outdoor
Living". The officers are
president, Michele Van-
deworp; secretary, Elise
Vandeworp; press reporter,
Alice Dietrich. Each girl
completed the fitness test
which consisted of sit ups,
standing jump; static hang>
200 metre sprint and an
obstacle course, The
meeting concluded with 12
exhausted girls and two
exhausted leaders.
The second meeting was
GRADUATE — Joanne Van
Raay graduated recently
with a Diploma in the Recrea-
tion Leadership Program
from Mohawk College in
Hamilton, Ontario. She has
accepted a position with W.
Ross MacDonald School for
the Visually Impaired in
Brantford, Ontario. She is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Case Van R`aay,
Dashwood.

the Lord's Prayer", There
were 10 members and one
guest. The Altar Guild
reported 154 visits, The new
Guild is Mrs. Earl Keller and
Mrs. Ray Rader. A generous
donation for the new kitchen
was received from Mitchell
Ladies' Aid. The bakeless
bake sale will be combined
with the bazaar. The
congregational picnic will be
held July 20 with group 1 in
charge.

Mrs. Irvin Rader attended
Tweedsmuir workshop at
Cranbrook, Tuesday, Ted
Phelps of Regional Records,
Universityof Western Ontario
discussed microfilming. He
had a sample of microfilm
tape, He took Walton and
Dashwood books to be
microfilmed.

surgery.
Sherrie Stade is a 4-H
delegate at Guelph this
week,
Mrs. Hilda Rader spent
last week in London and
attended convocation at
Alumni Hall, UWO, where
her granddaughter,
Catherine Rader, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rader
received her honors B.A. in
Economics.

Harmony Hall, near
