HUGH MORENZ Gloria Beierling was hostess at her home Friday night, for a grocery bridal shower, in honor of her sister-in-law, Freida Beierling, bride elect later this month. The officers are president, Michele Van- deworp; secretary, Elise Vandeworp; press reporter, Alice Dietrich. Each girl completed the fitness test which consisted of sit ups, standing jump; static hang> 200 metre sprint and an obstacle course, The meeting concluded with 12 exhausted girls and two exhausted leaders. The second meeting was GRADUATE — Joanne Van Raay graduated recently with a Diploma in the Recrea- tion Leadership Program from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. President, Mrs. Charlei Martene, presided and opened with a hymn, scripture reading and prayer. Mrs. Mayo Mellecke took for the topic "A study of the Lord's Prayer", There were 10 members and one guest. The Altar Guild reported 154 visits, The new Guild is Mrs. Earl Keller and Mrs. Ray Rader. A generous donation for the new kitchen was received from Mitchell Ladies' Aid. The bakeless bake sale will be combined with the bazaar. The congregational picnic will be held July 20 with group 1 in charge. Attends Workshop Mrs. Irvin Rader attended Tweedsmuir workshop at Cranbrook, Tuesday, Ted Phelps of Regional Records, Universityof Western Ontario discussed microfilming. He had a sample of microfilm tape, He took Walton and Dashwood books to be microfilmed. Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Niksch and Mr. and Mrs, Michael Smith, Jeremy and Janey, Hobart, Indiana, spent the weekend with Mrs. Esther Salmon and attended the Martene reunion. Edwin Martene underwent surgery in University Hospital, London. Mayo Mellecke, pastor of Zion Lutheran church and delegate, Irvin Rader, attended the 64th. convention of the Lutheran church Missouri Synod at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, last week, Mrs. Lloyd Rader is a, patient in St. Joseph's Hospital; Gordon Kraft is a patient in University Hospital. Both have had surgery. Sherrie Stade is a 4-H delegate at Guelph this week, Mrs. Hilda Rader spent last week in London and attended convocation at Alumni Hall, UWO, where her granddaughter, Catherine Rader, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rader received her honors B.A. in Economics. Guests came from Mitchell, Exeter, Dashwood, London, Goderich, Stratford, B.C., Elmira and Bornholm. Marian McCloud and Connie Chaffe conducted sports.
