PETER MARTIN CREDI TQlq Thursday evening the Explorer group treated the United Church Women and guests, to an evening of pleasure. Commentator for the evening WAS. Carolyn Prit- chard. The explorer hymn "This Is My Father's World" was sung in unison. The Explorer Purpose and Motto was given by Laura Draisey. The Explorer emblem was explained by Angela Land- sbergen and Mona Brand. A piano duet by Kathy and Julie Hendrick. followed, A mass choir presented the hymn. "Here Comes Jesus." A mini skit "What is. an Explorer was presented by Anita Finkbeiner and Joel Lax-apart, "He" was sweetly sung by Lisa Hewitt and Tracey Ratz. Childs. en'* Day Sunday morning ,Childreits Day was celebrated with the Church and. Sunday school combined. Organist Mrs. Leila Finkbeiner opened with an organ prelude. Harry Schroeder, superintendent welcomed everyoneand gave the call In worship. The Senior choir of the Sunday School sang "Tell Me The Stories of Jesus." The. Bob Heywood sang a NW numbers and taught all the boys and girls, young and old, the song "From the Rising of the Sun." The senior Sunday School choir then sang "Savoiour Teach us Day by Day. A message of salvation was presented by Bob Heywood speaking to the young people he clearly explained that in order to get to heaven you must believe in Jesus and be save& Special thank you's go to, Harry Schroeder for his ceaseless work with the teachers, Leila Finkbeiner for her devotion in playing the piano every Sunday and Mrs. Allan Finkbeirier, for her organization of the two Sunday School choirs. Seniors Trip Several 'senior citizen enjoyed a lovely trip to Pennsylvania last week, Mr, and Mrs. Ed Hendrick and Mrs. Leila Finkbeiner along with Seniors from Dashwood, Grand Bend. Parkhill and some from Orangeville visited the . Mennonite area of Penn- sylvania. The Corning Ware factory at Corning, The Hershey plant, a Rose Garden and a' pretzel fac- . tory. They had lovely weather while away and missed the tornados which were to prevalent in that area last week. Personals A number of area ladies enjoyed a restfull but in- formative day at camp Bimini Monday. Camp Bimini is located south of Stratford and in the summer is the scene of the United Church Childrens Camp. Those attending were, Mrs. Mary Elder and Robert, Mrs. Helen Ratz, Mrs. Allan Finkbeiner, Mrs. Velma Russell, Mrs. Marie Fydenchuk and Mrs. Leila Finkbeiner.
