HORSEMAN SHOP — Laverne Jackson of Wyoming brought harnesses, saddles and several tools from his shop inWyoming to the pioneer day held at the Lambton Heritage Museum on May 25. Mr. Jackson started his shop five years ago as a retirement plan but finds that he's doing repairs eight hours a day. Anglican Church news Canon James conducted the service at St. John's by the Lake, Anglican church, Sunday, because the regular Rector, Rev. George Anderson is vacationing in Europe. • On the Whitsunday in the Anglican faith, Canon James compared God to the magnitude of the ' Rocky Mountains. He told us , the "permanence," the "majesty" the "stability" and the eternal beauty of the mountains is like theglorious Faith in God. United Church News Guest minister at the United Church Sunday morning service was the Rev. Robert Witmer, Mr. Witmer is a -native of Goderich, Ontario. In 1969 he went to Japan as a teacher of English, and after two years became involved in a coffee house ministry. In Japan he met and married his wife Kelko and together they decided to return to. Canada so that Robert might seek ordination in the United Church of Canada, On Thursday May 15 he was ordained as United Church minister at the meeting of London Conference held in Wesley Knox United Church, London. In a. few weeks, he and his wife and children, will be returning to Japan where he will begin his ministry in a'rural area, Rev. Witmer gave an inspiring sermon on the importance of Christian faith and summed it up by telling us to take up, our Cross and follow Jesus. Scripture readings were from The Epistle, 1 Cor. 1:18- 31, and The Gospel, Mark Choir anthems today were "Blessings" and "Take my life and let it be," with flute accompaniment by Dawn Crabe. A presentation of Mission and Service Certificate of Merit, from United Church Headquarters in Toronto, was made by Rev. H. Moore, to Mrs. Clarke Kennedy, 'Chairman of the Mission and Service fund for Grand Bend Pastoral charge. This 'achievement was made by exceeding the national average of 7.2 per cent. This church's donation to mission• and service was 21.3 per cent.
