Nairn beats Centennials
Nairn Cardinals posted a 2-
0 shutout in Sunday soccer
against Exeter Centennials
at Canner's field.
Nairn had their first goal
from Andrew Hemming in a
goal-line scramble with 20
minutes gone.
Gilbert Quivouron got the
Cardinal's second at five
minutes into the last half,
after picking up the relay of
a long goal-kick.
For Exeter, it was again a
day of being luckless in a
number of scoring chances
on direct shots, and from
attempts on several per-
fectly placed corner-kicks
against their visitors.
Nairn were the aggressors
at the beginning of the game
by taking charge of the
centre of the field for most of
the initial half. Exeter
finally worked things around
in their favour before half-
time, and for nearly all of the
remainder of the game.
Even so, they were unable to
finish with a goal. ,
The Centennials play at
home on Canner's field again
next Sunday, June 1. Their
opponents will be West
Williams United, with a
game time of 4 p.m.

Butcher, Mery Batkin, Chris
Middleton and Fred Braul
