They fanned nine opposition batters. Leading the winners at thee• plate with two hits apiece were Jane Simpson, Brenda • Iredale and Patti Willis. Adding one hit apiece were Joan Cooper, Jane Sims and Laurie Simpson. Strong pitching again from Brenda Iredale and Patti Willis carried the Kirkton club fo a second victory by a score of 8-1 over Glanworth. The two Kirkton hurlers combined to allow only one hit and struck out 15 Glan- worth batters. At the bat Patti Willis was tops with a triple and single. Getting one single each were Jane Simpson, Jane Sims, Joan Cooper and Brenda Iredale. The third game of the season privided the toughest opposition to date as the Kirkton girls were held to a 5-5 tie by their arch rivals from St. Marys. The two, closely matched. teams were tied at three going into the final inning. Brenda Iredale tripled in the Kirkton half of the ninth to score Patti Willis and Joan. Cooper to move ahead but St. Marys bounced back with two runs to gain the tie., In addition to Kirkton other teams in the league are Mt. Brydges,- Kensal Park, Huron East, Oakridge, Belmont, Dorchester, Woodstock, Lambeth, Bergman has one under par Action of the. men's club golf club at the Ironwood Golf Course Tuesday was highlighted by the one under par score of Ken Bergman. Bergman took the A flight loW gross honours with his 34 while Ian Smith took low net honours with a 35. In B flight, Randy Evans and Don Heywood had low gross honours. Iver Small and Gerry Smith had the low net scores. Brad Murray had the low gross in C flight with a 41 while Ross Mathers and Bill Mickle were the next lowest. Low net honours went to Garry MacLean, Tom Voerman and Walt Tiedeman. , D flight low gross honours went to Van Tuckey with brother Mark tops in the low net category. Good efforts in skeet shoot Bill McNutt ran into some strong competition at the South Huron skeet range Saturday. His perfect score of 25 was only one better than the 24 turned in by Harrison Schoch of Zurich. John Elliott of Kippers was third with his best ever round' of breaking 23 targets. Next in line with 22 each were John Hessels and Wayne Forrester. With 21 hits each were. Art Barnes and Lorne Reist and scoring 20 apiece were Bill Boussey, Jim Butcher and Larry Gordon. The South Huron Sports- man's Association will be sponsoring a Ministry of Natural Resource's hunter safety course. It starts Thursday night.
