Panthers lose two
in soccer tourney"
The boys soccer team from
Central Huron Secondary
School in Clinton have ad-
vanced to the semi-finals in

championships as a result of
their victory in a pre-WOSSA
tournament held Tuesday in
Exeter.
The Redmen defeated
Mitchell two goals to one in
the shoot-out to take the title.
The teams were tied at 1-1"
after regulation time.
On Friday in Clinton the
Redmen will play the win-
ners from the Oxford-Elgin
conference.
In semi-final action
Clinton defeated Seaforth 2-1
and Mitchell edged Stratford
Central 2-1.
The South Huron Panthers
lost both games in the
tournament played at the
high school. In their first
effort Stratford Nor-
thwestern trounced the
locals 4-0 while in their
second effort Clinton
defeated the Panthers 3-1.
Tom DeBoeck had the lone
South Huron goal.
Other teams taking part in
the tournament were
Wingham, Goderich, St.
Marys, Listowel and
Seaforth,
The Crediton Cowgirls
enixie away With one victory
and one loss this week.
Wednes44y night the Cowgirls played in Parkhill
against their ladies team
and lest 8-7. The scoring was
close all the way through the
' game with Crediton with six
runs and Parkhill with seven
in the fifth inning. In the
seventh inning, Crediton
scored the tying run but
Parkhill managed to get one
run back with two Gut to
win the game. Sandy O'Neill
and Deb Lord were ahead on
the bats with single runs
sc ored by Michelle
Vandergunst and Merna • Scott.
On Monday night the
Cowgirls played at home and
came away with a victory by
downing Poplar Hill 9-8. The
Cowgirls moved ahead in the
second and third inning by
getting six runs in and only
letting Poplar Hill have one.
One bad inning in the fifth by
the Cowgirls gave Poplar
Hill the lead by pulling
ahead 8-6. In the sixth and
seventh inning the Cowgirls
batted three runs in to win
the game. Top batters were
Wilma Lagerwerf and Carol
Stuart with Shelley Weber,
Deb Lord, Kate Stilson,
Sherry Pfaff and Merna
Scott helping to bring the
win home.
The next scheduled game
is Monday, May 26 in
Crediton at 9:00 p.m. against
Biddulph.

guidelines.
The new , guidelines in-
creased to' $20,000 the
amount of drainage loans
any one farmer may have
under this prograth in a
fiscal year. The total,amount
which any one farmer may
have outstapding.at any one
time has been increased to
$60,000.
