The Ladies' Legion
Auxiliary met on TuesdaY
evening with the President
Mrs. Beatrice Uyl presiding.
The Members made a
donation to the girl's ball
team. Arrangements were
made for the annual "Penny
Sale" to be held June 6.

Baptism in Carmel Church

conducted Mother's Day
service in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on
Sunday and performed the
Sacrament of Baptism when,
Wendy Elizabeth Snelgrove,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Snelgrove and their
grandchildren, daughter and
son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
McDonald, Zurich were
presented for baptism,.
Rev. Knight's message to
the children was "Great
Mother's of the Bible" and to
the congregation "The
meaning of the Sacrament of
Baptism."

Amber Rebekah Lodge was
held on Wednesday evening

balances. Several members
attended the dessert euchre
and, bake sale at Huronic
Lodge 'Clinton' on Wed-
oesolay. An, invitation was
received to a dessert euchre
and, in Edelweiss Lodge
Seaforth on May 14th.
The annual Church parade
will be held May 18th to the
Hensall United church; to
meet at the local hall at 10:30
a.m. Lunch to be provided

niversary dinner of Huronic
Lodge Clinton on May ned.

Unit 4 Meets '
Unit four of the Hensall
U.C.W. met in the
Fellowship Hall on Thursday
with the leader Mrs. Britton
opening the meeting with a
poem "Spring Cleaning"
followed by a singing of ,A
hymn. Mrs. Purdy chose a
verse from the 23rd Psalm
for her devotional Psalm 23
was repeated in unison.
Sixteen members an-
swered the roll. call. There
were 44 visits made to the
sick and shut-ins in April.
The treasurer reported that
the barbeque had been well
attended and was a decided
success, Mrs. Rena Cladwell
thanked the ladies for their
co-operation. The General
meeting will be on June 2.
' Mrs. Rachel Schwalm
spoke on the 36-day Pacific
circle tour she had taken
during the winter. She en-
thusiastically described the
highlights and displayed the
many souvenirs she had
brought home with her.

Christian Family Sunday
was observed at Hensall.
United Church on Mother's
Day with the family of Hans,
Diane, Linda and Steven
Gerstenkorn conducting the
service to signify all the
families of the congregation.
Rev. Stan McDonald spoke
to the children about
Mothers and then welcomed
them to the rest of the ser-
vice. He preached on
"Making our houses into
homes,"
The front of the Church
was beautifully decorated
for the occasion with mums,
tulips and forsythia and two
birds in cages. A lovely

The youth group of Hensall
will meet on Friday evening,
at 7:30 p,m. at the United
Church when a wiener roast
will be held.
Next Sunday the
and Rebekah Lodge mem-'
bers will join in the worship

meet
The W.M.S. of Carmel
Presbyterian Church met on
Monday evening with the
President Mrs. Harvey Hyde
Opening the program with a
poem "The lovely month of
May". Mrs. Perc Campbell
was in charge of the
devotional.
Mrs. Hyde conducted the
business and gave a message
on "Christian Freedom".
The spring rally will be held
in Goderich May 14 at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Faber reported for the
visiting for April, Plans
were completed for the
W.M.S. nineteenth an-
niversary and the Arnold
Circle Evening Auxiliary's
fiftieth. Mrs. Englert to be
the guest speaker. An in-
vitation was raceived from
the U.C.W. of Hensall United
Church to their meeting on
June 2, when Mrs. Jean
Moffatt, Waterloo will speak
on "Amnesty International".
The next business meeting
will be held June 9th, Mrs.
Hyde read a prayer by Chief
Stan George and the meeting
closed with the Lord's
