Adults auditions will be
held Sunday, June 1 between
2:00p.m.and 6:00p.m. A two
minute (Maximum) piece
from a modern play should
be prepared. No musical
background is required. The
season opens June 24 and
runs until September 6, and
includes Private Lives, The
Sunshine Boys, Same Time
Next Year, Free at Last and
Annie Get Your Gun. Suc-
cessful candidates must be
available during this time
period. Those interested
should provide a photograph,
and resume (if available) on
the day of the audition.

10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and
from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
and on Sunday, June 1
between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00
p.m.

projects at Usborne Central
School, along with Jay
Campbell. Both of us were
very impressed with the
projects and the work that
had gone into them.

charge of this year's sub-
scription campaign, said
that a record 1100 season
tickets had already been
sold. Last year at this time
only 800 tickets had been
sold.
The goal for the sub-
scription has been set for
2000. Mrs. Gibbs says she
will have no problem
reaching the goal with her
strong head start. Season
tickets can be purchased
until the plays open in June.
Last year the theatre set
1700 as their subscription
goal. Only about 1500 were
sold,
Artistic director Aileen
Taylor-Smith used the kick-
off party to announce some
of the actors and actresses
she has lined up for the
summer season. Not all

White. Ms, Mayeska will be
remembered as Mrs.
Manningham in last sum-
mer's production of Angel

should familiar to CBC
television viewers. Actress
Joyce Gordon has been lined
up for Same Time, Next
Year.
Ms. Taylor-Smith also
announced that a company
of young actors is being
hired, and they will be
operating a children's
workshop again this sum-
mer. Dates for the acting
classes have not been
decided. The young players
will be presenting Alice in
Wonderland on Saturdays
from July 5 to August 30 for
children,
Chamber
wants new
waste cans
Members of the Grand
Bend and area Chamber of
Commerce decided to send a
delegation of two to the next
meeting of Grand Bend
council. The chamber met
Tuesday night at the Moulin
Rouge restaurant, with 35 in
attendance.
Bob Deane and Harold
Sibbery said that they would
meet with council to discuss
the possibilities of replacing
the present garbage con-
tainers with something
more attractive. The two
men offered to look into
prices and .ideas for new
waste containers . The
chamber said that they
would share the cost of the
new containers with the
village.
Chamber members were
urged by their executive to
attend a meeting Thursday
night in the village hall on
the possibilities of forming a
Business Improvement
Area.
In other business, they
decided to send $100 to the
Port Hope chamber of
Commerce flood relief fund.
Secretary manager Bob
Simpson reported that the
chamber now has 50 paid up
members.
The highlight of the
meeting was a presentation
on facilities and ac-
commodations in the area.
Owners and managers told
what they had to offer at
their various motels, hotels
and campgrounds.

Huron Country Playhouse
is offering a chance for non-
equity talent to audition for
parts in their 1980 Festival of
Summer Theatre. Auditions
will be conducted by Aileen
Taylor-Smith, Artistic
Nolan scored three goals as
did Kevin Simmonds. Frank
Backx and John Mennen
each scored a goal apiece.
The newely formed second
senior team, the Grand Bend
B's lost to Nairn 7-2. Bill
Mennen scored two goals for
the B's to take the lead early
in the game. But in the
second half the local team
was playing against the wind
and the Nairn team was able
to put in seven,
Other teams are still
spending their evenings
practising at the soccer field.
The girls team meets on
Monday evening. Pee wees
and Bantams meet on
Wednesday. More players
are needed in the 12 to 14 and
14 to 16 age groups if they are
to form teams.
Both senior teams meet on
Thursday nights, and
Mosquitoes and Squirts
practise on Friday evenings.
