Dear Bill:
As many now realize,
South Huron D.H.S. will be
celebrating 75 years of high
school education on Satnr-
day June 21. Over 20 com-
mittees of students and
teachers are working to help
make this a successful day,
We hope that all former
students and staff of both
Exeter High. School and
South Huron High School will
feel welcome.
One of the committees is
working to prepare a history
display about school life
from 1905 to 1980, This
committee needs plenty of
help from everyone in the
community. We are asking
anyone who may have
material (pictures,
negatives, newspaper
clippings, trophies, jackets
etc,) about school life and
willing to let us borrow it for
display (or to make copies)
to please contact us as soon
as possible.
If you have material for
us, please drop it off at the
main office at the school or
ball the school (235-0880) and
we will pick it up. We par-
ticularly need picture and
information from the early
50's and before.
As our ticket' ad-
vertisernent indicates this
week, tickets are now on
sale. We hope the public will,
purchase these as soon as
possible, For an event of this
size we have problems
estimating the numbers we
should expect.
If most wait until the last
week or two to purchase
tickets we will be unable to
let people know the
availability of tickets,
Barbecue tickets will be sold
only until June 14. There will
only be 100 tickets available
after this date. They will be
on sale at the barbecue.
In future weeks we will be
publishing more details on
homecoming. We hope that
everyone will pass the word
about homecoming to former
students and teachers who
no longer live in the com-
munity.
The success of this event
will be directly related to the
number of persons at-
tending. Please help out and
send out an invitation.
The response and interest
to this point has been
tremendous and I'm sure
that those who attend will be
happy they did so.
