Golden anniversary
The Leprechaun Hall at
the Lucan Community
Centre was the scene of a
very happy occasion Sunday
afternoon when the family
and friends of Mr. and Mrs.
Sheridan Revington
gathered to offer
congratulations and best
wishes on their 50th
Anniversary.
A gold-lettered scroll
"thank you" to everyone was
illuminated and placed near
the table where everyone
signed the guest book. The
opposite end of the hall was
beautifully decorated with
the many cards received
during the past weeks.
A scroll was received
through M.P.P. Jack Riddell
from the province of Ontario
and a letter of
congratulations from
Tindall's Belgians
Alexia, Tindall in charge of flowers and ribbons
Government House in
Ottawa, through M.P.
Garnet Bloomfield.
Tables were decorated
with arrangements of yellow
roses and fern and golden
tapers lighted the tea table
from which sisters of the
happy couple poured tea -
Mrs. Leonard Lobsinger,
Mrs. Jack Lankin, Mrs.
Arthur McLean, Mrs.
Douglas Moore, Mrs. Wesley
Revington and Mrs. John
Martin.
The ladies of Lucan United
Church catered for the oc-
casion,.
At 7 p.m. a family dinner
was held, also in the
Leprechaun Hall, for
relatives and close friends,
with Leon Paul of Kirkton
acting as M.C. for many
toasts and best wishes.

morning and by 3 o'clock the
next afternoon it was
delivered to our farm," he
added.
Another Tindall deal was
completed over the
telephone when he pur-
chased a team from
Indiana, He explained, "I
had someone look at them
for me over there, but, I was
still pretty keen to peek into
the trailer when they arrived
at the border in Sarnia."
Tindall, does his own
shoeing and he added, "It's
a never-ending job to keep
them shod. Also, I never let
them all out to pasture at
once. When they get loose
they play like big dogs and
there is always a danger of
running into a fence and
getting hurt."
Looking after the horses
and getting ready for a fair
or show takes all members of
the Tindall family. Bob
explains, "It's a family
effort. If you had to hire help
you couldn't get started."
His wife Alexia in-
terjected, "It means getting
up at 5 a.m..It takes a lot of
time to get the ribbons and
flowers ready. I would say
the morning of a show we
spend two hours at home
getting ready and about the
same amount of time when
we arrive at the fair."
The two Tindall daughters
have been very much in-
volved in the show horse
business. Nancy, who is now
Mrs. Ron Cunningham of RR

was the Ontario Belgian
Queen in 1978-79.
Following in her footsteps
Was her sister Mary Lou. She
was crowned Ontario
Belgian queen in July of last
year.
This ceremony takes place
each July at the Belgian
breed's annual show at the
Waterloo Police Academy at
Cambridge.
Mary Lou said the
highlight of her term as
Queen was riding into the
Royal Winter Pair ring with
the winning six horse hitch
team.
Asked about the requisites
for success in driving a four
or six horse team, Bob
Tindall replied, "The har-
ness must be Qhooked up
right, you must know what
you are doing and the horses
must pay attention to you."
He added, "If the front
team decides to go one way
and the back another
direction, you are lost. There
is ,nothing you can do about
that, so it's important that
they pay attention td the

Rev. Ray Brewster spoke
from John 14:1-6. When we
do pot know the way for our
life, we trust in Jesus as the
way maker. He is the one
who brings peace with God,
When we ask God to forgive
us, we then need to forgive
ourselves, as God has done
SQ.
Since God is a miracle
worker, He can miraculously
meet our needs, as nothing is
too hard for God. When
storms of life come we do not
need to fear, Instead trust
God to work a miracle, as we
can have what we believe
God for, according to our
faith,
Rev. Ray Brewster con-
ducted the evening service,
Bruce Thomson and George
Melanson played their
guitars as Doug Butler sang
with them "Peace Be Still."
Rev Brewster ministered
telling of Jesus promise to
send the Comforter, the
Spirit of Truth, to His people,
after He went back to
heaven. When you take your
stand to live for God, it can
feel very lonely, but the
Comforter is with you to give
you peace. This Comforter,
the Holy Spirit, will teach us
the truth from God's word.
