Mrs. H. Scene presided for
the April Thankoffering
meeting of Unit I of Hensall
United Church. This is the
time of the year for
renewal of faith and hope.
Mrs. Scane read a poem
"The Heart Finds Hope At
Easter",
She found her thoughts on
faith in an article "Faith
Refound" by Jim Bishop.
This story tells of a man who
had lost his faith in God and
found it through the miracle
of birth of his baby daughter.
After losing his wife and
mother, in a short period of
time, he found that nothing
accidental, good and bad,
are part of a Divine scheme
as he groped his painful way,
he found his soul so therefore
knew there must be a God.
1 He then prayed continuing
faith.
Lorna Spencer had a very
interesting study about
Hiraku Iwai, who during the
1950's was studying theology
in Japan. He Was called to
serve a five point charge in
Alberta and after this he
preached in Montreal when
there was a very large

nothing too small" showing
how big problems can be
overcomed with the help of
God and no thing is too small
for Him to help, She also
read the legend of the Easter
flower.
Seventeen members an-
swered the roll call by saying
what signs of Spring they
had seen and two visitors
were present.
Mrs. Hans Gerstenkorn
acted as secretary and read
several cards of thanks. She
also took the topic telling
about a famous Japanese
author Ayaka Miura who
after fighting tuberculosis
for many years, began
writing novels to defend the
Christian faith. So many
have been converted by her
stories that her books have
been translated into 10
languages, Her books are a
powerful weapon against the
anti-Christian feeling in
Japan at the present time,
Mrs. Carl Payne read
another poem, "An Easter
Thought" before the
business was conducted by
Mrs. Cecil Pepper. Flowers
in the sanctuary in May were
arranged for and en-

of May. The bale will be
