FRED I30WDEN Rev. Harley Moore, Gratict Bend conducted the Com- munion and Baptismal service in the United Church on Sunday morning, Romans Chapter Chapter 12, verse 1 was the text used by Rev. Moore for his communion sermon and he reminded his listeners that every Christian is called to make sacrifices. Baptismal rites were administered to Christopher Paul Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones, Exeter; Shauna Lee-Anne Belle, daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Leslie Belle, London; and Christian Robert Stuckless, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stuckless, Huron Park. Mark Jeffery Stuckless and Leslie Belle were baptized and received into church membership. Mr. Paul Schott conducted services at Greenway and Grand Bend United Chur- ches and was a guest following the services with Rev. and Mrs. Moore. Personals Mrs. Earl Dixon is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shoebottom, Parry Sound, and Miss Mary Shoebottorn, London were Weekend guests with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shoebottom and family. Mrs. Russell Wilson ac- companied her daughter, Margaret, on a flight to Florida for a week's vacation. On Sunday Mrs Wilson and family were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs, Ian Lambie in Wyoming. Reg and Helen Aubin, Seaforth, spent Sunday with her sister, Von Overholt and Pauline. The "Meet. Your Neigh- bour Club" attended the Indoor Gardening Summary program at Dashwood Community Hall Monday night. The meeting was sponsored by the Home Economics Branch of Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Good supervision is the art of getting average people to do superior work By MANUEL CURTS The April meeting of the 'United Church Women was held at the home of Evelyn Curts with 23 members present. Evelyn opened the worship with an organ solo "In the Garden," after which she read the poem "God's counting on you" followed by the reading of Psalm 24, The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. Mrs. Lawrence Curts told the Easter Story in verse, interspersed with duets by Mrs. Harold Brophey and Mrs. Harry Isaac entitled 'Break Thou the Bread of Life,' neath the Ole Olive Trees,' Alas and did my Saviour Bleed". and 'Lead me to Calvary'. This very enjoyable part of the meeting closed with the hymn "Crown Him with Many Crowns." Mrs. Harley Moore then told us about life in Japan, She was assisted by Doris Eagleson, Shirley Eagleson, Martha Geromette and Lillian Ulens. She read a poem "Japan can teach," written by Kagawa. A contest on Japanese articles, was won by Mabel Guenther. The president, Iva Lagerwerf, then led the meeting. Edna Woodburn read the correspondence. The minutes were read by Anne Walper and approved. Doris Eagleson gave the treasurer's report, Business items were discussed and. the meeting closed with the Benediction and Grace. Shirley Eagleson and Anne Walper assisted the hostess in serving a delicious lunch, and a social time followed. A successful dessert euchre was held by the Ladies Guild of Grace Anglican Church on Wed- nesday afternoon. Nine By MRS, STAN PRESZCATOR Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator were Sunday supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Glanville and family, RR 1 Parkhill. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator visited Saturday with Mrs. Mary Thornton in Seaforth Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wein and Mr. and Mrs, Alex Hamilton, Grand Bend visited on Friday with the latter's aunt in Ingersoll. tables were at play resulting in the following winners: Mary Kooy, Inez Woodburn and Aldene Wolfe. On Thursday evening, nine members of the U.C.W. attended the Easter Ecumenical Service held in St. John's By the Lake Anglican Church, Grand Bend. and report a most rewarding time of fellowship• together. Mr. and Mrs. Clare Reid, London, were visitors Sunday, with Mr. and Mrs. Herb Piper. A visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Larmer for two weeks is Ken's mother, of Blackstock.
