After a bountiful meal euchre was enjoyed, Winners were ladies high - Elizabeth Lamport; low - Mary Shamblow; men's high - Lawrence Beckett; low - Laverne Rodd; and lone hands was Floyd Cooper. FRED BOWDEN CENTRALIA Centralia United Church Explorers held their Red Star and Initiation Ceremony Tuesday April 1. Parents were invited and dinner was served. In order to hold the dinner the Explorers held a raffle with a prize to the girl sell-' ing the most tickets. It end- ed in a tie with Debbie Hor- ton and Lori Shoebottom as the whiners of an Explorer T-shirt. Winner of the grand prize (a doll dressed in $50 worth of bills) was Bonnie Kooy from 202 Columbia Drive in Huron Park. Sunday Service Easter Lilies and pots of mums decorated the United Church for Easter Sunday with a good attendance at the service. There was an anthem by the choir and a lovely vocal solo by Faye Blair. -Organ arid piano music were provided by Mr. Doug Gill and Mary Lou Tasko. "Understanding the Resurrection" was the topic chosen by Mr. Paul Schott for his Easter Message. Personals Bernard Rimmer returned home on Thursday from Vic- toria Hospital. Orma Pollock, Kincardine was a visitor for a couple of days last week at the home of his sister. Mrs. Lorne Hicks, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Walden of Lucknow were Wednesday visitors with Mrs. Hicks. Bonnie and Clyde Kooy, Huron Park were week end visitors with their grand- parents. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kooy, and theirparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Kooy join- ed them for dinner Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shoebottom and family spent the Easter weekend with Richard's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shoebottom in Parry Sound. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins returned home Sun- day evening following a trip to Florida and the Keys with the former's brother, Mr. Charles Hodgins of Chesley. While in Florida they called on Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burger near St. Petersburg. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Greb in Sarasota. Craig Skinner spent the weekend at the home of his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Skinner while his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Skinner, were on an Easter weekend bus tour to Nash- ville. Mrs. Roy Harrison and Mrs. Minnie Harrison were Wednesday dinner guests with Debbie Harrison in London and Thursday they visited with Mrs. Jessie Lewis at Strathmere Lodge and with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Harrison in Strathroy. Mrs. Minnie Harrison was a guest on Easter Sunday with "Mr. and Mrs. Roy Harrison. Centralia Faith Tabernacle news The Good Friday fellowship service was held in the Lucan Revival Centre. The participating churches were Centralia Faith Tabernacle and Exeter Pentecostal. The theme of the service was the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Jesus ascended in to heaven and ever lives. He makes intercession for us. Ministers Bob Degraw and Keith Gonycu shared in leading the song service. The special speaker was Rev. Henry Nunn Jr. He spoke on the many faces or the portraits of patriarchs and' prophets of old. Beginning with Adam and ending with the face of Jesus Christ. Before the morning ser- vice a Sunrise prayer break- fast was held in Centralia Community Centre. The Young People of the church were in charge of the break- fast. A large crowd attended the Easter morning and evening services. The pastor spoke on the resurrection. Bob Heywood ministered in song at both services. `One of his selections was "And I .should have been Crucified." The sacrament of communion was ad- ministered. Everyone said it was good to be in the House of the Lord. Euchre party Mr. and Mrs. Bob Blair and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hicks were in.charge of the euchre party at the Com- munity Centre Monday night with 11 tables in play. Winners were: ladies high, Georgina Webster; lone hands, Vesta Rock; low, Mrs. Evan Hodgins; men's high, Tom Kooy; lone hands, George Dixon; low, Mrs. Earl Dixon; special prize, Mrs. Bill Lamport.
