Several ladies from this community attended the "Quilt Display and Craft Show" held in Parkhill the family recently took to Germany and surrounding countries. Mrs, Floyd Cooper read the Easter story in detail and led in prayer. Mrs. John Batten read two poems United Church Saturday, Two clancleboye ladies displayed quilts in the show. It was a most interesting show with over 40 quilts on display as well as several afghans; hooked rugs and needlepoint pictures. The craft sale in the church hall also had an excellent variety of goods. Rhea Markus who is a member of the London Chapter Sweet Adelines, participated in their concert "Its Better in Barbershop" held Saturday evening at the Beal Tech Auditorium, London. Peter and Dorothy Nott attended the Lucan-Biddulph school staff, bowling party held at Fleetway 40, London Friday evening with refresh- ments after at the home of principal and Mrs. Wallace McLay. entitled Easter and Joyous Easter Morning. An article "Religion" was read by Mrs. Cooper. IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Dashviiood Men's club chartered a bus to Hamilton to tour 'Dofasco'steel plant. There were 26 members and friends. They were shown how the different kinds of steel were made, and the huge ovens which hold 160 ton of steel at temperatures of 2600-3000 F. A tour of Andres winery was also made where they saw the large fermentation tanks and the bottling, capping and labeling. Everyone enjoyed the trip and found it very in- formative. Choirs elect executive The junior and senior choirs of Zion Lutheran church enjoyed a social evening at the community centre Thursday. Mrs. Melvin Stade, president,' presided and after opening,: election of officers was held' with results as follows, president, Mrs. Howard Datars; vice-president, Mrs. Albert Rader; secretary, Jayne Hayter; assistant, Mrs. Charles Martene; choir leader, Melvin Stade; assistant, Helen Nadiger; librarians, Helen Nadiger and Howard Datars; social committee, Mrs. Melvin Stade, Mrs. Paul Maguire and Hubert Miller; card secretary, Mrs. Melvin Stade. The junior and senior choirs presented Helen Nadiger with an engraved silver tray and the junior choir presented her with a corsage in recognition of her faithful years as organist. Games and lunch followed with a special cake and ice- cream.
