Church when the minister and choir presented "The Mass of St. Francis", The blending and, balancing of voices brought the message of this very beautiful and yet powerful Communion ser- vice before the people in a ,very inspiring and uplifting way. The choir was under the direction of Mrs. Marianne McCaffrey with Dr, Topp at the piano with Rev. McDonald takipg the solo parts as the Celebrant. The Mass, based on the well- known prayer of St. Francis, was opened with the Introit, "Suffer Little Children", followed by the Kyrie. The, Gloria was sung, following the reading of the Epistle and Psalm. and Rev. lYleDonald and the choir closed the service with the Dismissal put to music. The hymns used for the service were, "There's a wideness in God's mercy", and "Now thank we all our, God", both to tunes written especially for the Folk Mass. Former Henson resident dies in London Miss Mary Elliott "Min- nie" Reid long time resident of Hensall died at the Marion Villa on Monday, March 17, 1980. She was of 200 College Avenue, daughter of the late Mr. Mrs. Hector Reid and sister of the late J. D. Reid, London and D. A, Reid late of Los Angeles. Files of New St, James Presbyterian Church of- ficiating. Burial in Baird's Cemetery at Brucefield. Celebrate fiftieth wedding anniversary Mr. & Mrs. William Rogerson of 14 York Cr. Hensall celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Saturday. A family dinner was served in the Hensall United Church by Unit two. They have a family of four; Ken Rogerson, Clinton, Margaret McClure, Seaforth, Helen. Settles, Salmon Arm, B.C. and Joan McDonald, Ailsa Craig, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who were all in attendance. Later in the evening guests were invited to the Hensall and district Community . Centre where a large crowd gathered to celebrate with the Rogerson s. and family. Entertain parents The young teens of the United Church entertained their parents to very en joyable evening on Friday, night, when. they played basketball And volleyball in the Public School followed' y less exhausting gamea back in the church ball. The young teens closed the evening with lunch. Set Bible school dates The Christian Develop- ment Committee of the United Church met ore Monday evening and began their plans for Summer and Fall programmes. Among other things the dates of June 30 to July 4 was set as vacation Bible school for Hensall. Personals Mrs, Carl McDonald returned home to Atwood on Sunday afternoon after spending thelast two weeks with her son Rev. Stanley McDonald at the Manse. Mrs. Laird Mickle returned last Friday after spending a week at the home of her son and daughter-in- law Dr. & Mrs. Robert Mickle and family at Cambridge. Mr. Asa beeves who was a patient in South Huron Hospital for the past week was able to return to his home. Charles Mickle of Hamilton spent the weekend with his mother Mrs. Laird Mickle. Dr. Stephenson said that an additional $35 million will be added to the $2 billion, 18s million to facilitate the in- troduction of new assessment equalization faciort.
