Alma Westlake of the rec

In another question from

A meeting between of-
ficials of Hay, Stanley, and
Stephen townships and the
village of Zurich cleared the
air over the financial status
of the Zurich arena:
Chairman of the meeting
Zurich councillor Bob Fisher
told the meeting that the
village had no intention of
suggesting what the town-
ships pay. said it would
be unfair ask for money

which is ,hirty years old.
In a t ,ur of the building,
arena ',onager Jerry Rader
said the enclosed area above
the gym received much use
by both hockey and figure
skating spectators and the
summer playground.
Pointing to a hole in the floor
Rader said something should
be done, about the floor.
According to the arena
manager, the facility is
upgraded on a continual
basis with Rader noting the
new steel fire doors and the
refinishing of hall floor.
One project which the
arena, parks and recreation
. committee has considered is
the insulation of the arena's
steel walls with a covering of
plywood.
Both Rader and Fisher
said this should lower
maintenance costs at the
arena.
The arena has attempted
to hold the line on increasing
` energy costs with Rader
saying the installation of
mercury vapor lights a ,few
years ago cut the arena
lighting costs in half.

Near the close of meeting
'Zurich Reeve Fred Haberer
thanked the people for
coming out and said he can

The whole package of

Each year the provincial

He said health units are a
