TEMPLEMAN STAFFA Scouts, Cubs and Beavers of the 1st Cromarty Boys Scouts organization and their leaders, attended and participated in a well at- tended church service in Hibbert United Church on Sunday, February 24. Following the processional hymn, during which the boys entered the church, Jest Drost gave the prayer of invocation and the flag bearers, Jason Schoon- derwoerd, David Smale and Scotty Elliott placed the flags of each group at the front of the church. Joan Daymaid led in the responsive reading, Michael Drost read the scripture and Orval Rowland led in prayer. The minister's wife, Mrs, John Davies, told very in- teresting and entertaining children's stories and the Hibbert junior choir led in the singing. Rev. John Davies spoke on the Theme "My Ideal Scout". The offering was received by Paul Menhere, Steven Gardiner, Steven Vivian and Robbie Brown, with the offertory prayer being given by Peter Vandervliet, Following the closing hymn, Russell Miller pronounced the benediction and the boys filed out. Ushers for the service were, Michael Drost and Ronald Finlayson. Personals Mery Parsons and Richard Templeman were among 30 grade 10 history students from Mitchell District High. School, who enjoyed a four day trip to Quebec City, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Eddy, Toronto, Mr. and Mrs, Ken Laidlaw, Atwood, and Miss Mary Jane Templeman, were Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Parsons and Mike. Winners were: ladies high - Mrs. Isobel Bullock, - Greenway ; ladies low - Mrs. Elzar Masse, Zurich; mens high - Verne Sharpe - Parkhill; men's low - Ed' Turnbull and most lone hands - Norman Breen. The north group were in charge of lunch refresh- ments. There will be another card party in two weeks. Personals The Mellin family, in- cluding Russ and Ruby, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mahon and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dow are home after a en- joyable bus trip to Califor- nia. Visiting Sunday at the John Templeman home were Mr. and Mrs.. Jim Neilson and Jennifer, Stratford. , Darlene Templeman, Exeter and Ruth Templeman, Dublin, Chris Elliott is home after a lengthly stay in Seaforth hospital. Marian and Murray Hamilton, and boys of Thedford, Barb and Larry Wein and family, Exeter, Wayne and Dorothy Mellin and family, of Greenway, all visited recently with Lorene and Harold Martin in Kit- chener. ' Mr. Clem Trojan, of Royal Oak, Michigan, Mr. Paul Trojan and son Craig, of Ann Arbor Michigan, were dinner guests, Saturday, with Mrs. Mabel Guenther and Karen. Clem is an uncle to Karen and Paul and Craig are her cousins Harold and Lucille Vin- cent, Lori, Michael and Michelle, have returned from a three week holiday in the South, at Inglewood, south of Sarasota in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Beckett, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Strahan and Jean Copeland enjoyed the bus trip to flower show in Toronto on Saturday sponsored by the Kirkton Horticultural Society.
