Patterson
goes to top
Deputy-Reeve Harold
Patterson continues to move
up the town's politicalladder
"by default".
Last fall, he moved from a
council seat to his present
position due to a shuffle that
was necessitated by the
resignation of Reeve Si
Simmons,
This week, Patterson
became acting mayor when
Mayor Derry Boyle was
absent from Monday's
meeting. He was in Toronto
attending a convention as a
member of the PUC.
Reeve Don MacGregor,
who would normally fill the
spot, was sick, so Patterson
assumed the reins.
Councillor Don Cameron
also missed Monday's
session, being one of the
community's many flu
victims.
"With your indulgence and
Liz to help, I should be able
to get through this tonight,"
Patterson stated in taking
over the chairman's post for
the session.
He was commended at the
conclusion of the meeting by
Councillor Jay Campbell.
The meeting lasted for less
than 90 minutes.
Worry pulls tomorrow's
cloud over today's sunshine.
