Elsie Tuckey reported that the annual Ball Will be held at the South Huron rec centre with the Johnny Downs orchestra providing the 'music. Members are planning to attend the play Erma La Douce at Theatre London in February. Elsie WitteVeen in- troduced the guest speaker, Kathy Mustard who operates Kathy's Flower Fashions in St. Marys.. She gave and interesting program on plants and their care. She displayed some plants and explained their par- • ticular features. After a quektion and answer period, Donna Webster thanked. Kathy and assisted the hostess with the lunch. The second meeting in. January was held at Sally Lou Raymond's home, June Essery announced the the "Annual Daffodil Day for Cancer," would be held on Thursday April 3. They would be for sale on the street as well as orders taken by the industries. This is a worthy cause for cancer. Mary Jane Taylor took thed Sally Lou Raymond an program by'providing a slide presentation on a trip to Hawaii, taken by Mary Jane. Refreshments and lunch were served using Hawaiian recipes. By KATHY COOPER ELIMVILLE The Elimville Women's Institute held an euchre Monday evening at the, hall. The winners were Men's high-Lawrence Beckett; lone hands- Laverne Rodd and low-Earl Stepehns. The Ladies high was won by Verda Morrison, lone hands- Kay Morley and low-Dorothy Switzer. Another euchre will be held February 4. U.C.W. meet The Elimville United Church Women met Wed- nesday afternoon at the church. Mrs, Philip Johns opened the meeting by repeating the first two verses of the Bible. Everyone joined in singing a humn and then all repeated Psalm CXL VII in unison. Mrs. Johns read an article "Potato" telling how very important the earth is to everyone. She also led in prayer. 'Mrs. John Batten received the offering. Mrs. Freeman Horne played an organ solo. Mrs. Philip Hern led in the Bible' Study and discussed Japan and Christianity in Japan. All sang, a Japanese hymn and to help make posters on Japan and World Outreach. Mrs. Hern read an article on a missionary Rob Witmer who was going to be guest speaker, along with his wife, at the Huron-Perth Presbyterial on Monday. This part of the meeting closed by singing another Japanese hymn, These hymn will be used throughout the year as the ladies study Japan, Mrs. Philip Hern the new president, was in charge of the business. The roll call was answered by a donation to the card fund. The prices of meals and quilting was discussed. The U.C.W. will cater to the Exeter Oddfellow's Friendship Night March 15 at the Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre. A United By MRS. Following, the reading of the minutes of last year's vertry by Mrs. Harry Carroll Vestry Clerk, church treasurer Mrs. Hugh Davis read the report and the 'Sunday School report. Mrs. Heber Davis read the A.C.W. and guild reports. Gote Wennerstrom remained Ministers Warden, until the Parish gets a rector, Hugh Davis was elected peoples Warden. Mrs. Hugh Davis, organist Mrs.. Wayne Carroll and eight were elected to the board of managment. Mrs. Heber Davis moved a vote of thanks to Mr. Creery for his kindness and service these past weeks in the absence of a rector. Church Women Sunday will be held on the first Sunday in June. CGIT The C.G.I.T. met at Thames Road Sunday evening. Joan Cooper, Barbara Skinner and Tracey Coward were in charge of the meeting and lunch. The fellowship group met Sunday evening at Elimville. Rev. and Mrs. James For- sythe were guests. A number of members of the United Church Women attended the Huron-Perth Annual Presbyterial at .Goderich North Street United Church, Monday. Greenlee and Hugh Davis. Robert Tindall spent Sunday with his friend Dean Van Arenthal, Lucan. Mrs. Wayne Carroll spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ford Dyer, Sarnia.
