Mills as Sunday School

Party on Wednesday Jan.
23rd at 8p.m. Everyone is
welcome. An invitation was
received and accepted,
weather permitting to attend
the meeting of "Pride of
Huron Lodge on February
6th. Arrangements were
made to attend the meeting
in Huronic Lodge Clinton
Monday evening January 21
and to Drape the Charter
when the Assembly Warden
will be the guest. The United
Nations "Speak Off" will be
on March 7th at Clinton
Public School. It was decided
'to hold the Anniversary for
the Lodge at a later date
than in February.
Arnold Circle Meets.
The Arnold Circle evening
ateciliary met on Tuesday
evening in Carmel
Presbyterian church with
the President Mrs. Harry
Moir presiding. Mrs. Ellis
Stewart was in charge of the
devotional and gave an in-
teresting message on "the
Christian and the New
Year."
The group will visit the
residents at Queensway
Nursing Home in February.
The Circle will observe their
50th anniversary this year.
The President is Mrs. Harry
Moir; Secretary; Mrs. Glenn
Nixon; Treasurer: Mrs. Ken
Pollock; Telephone Com-
mittee: Mrs. Wayne Love
and Mrs. Garry Maxwell.
Unit I I holds meeting
The January meeting of
Unit II of Hensall United
church was held on Monday
evening with fifteen mem-
bers answering the Roll Call
by payment of fees. Mrs.
Grant McLean was in charge
of the program, and opened
the meeting with a poem "A
New Year's Thought" Mrs.
R. Mock was Secretary. The
1980 programs were
distributed. Mrs. ' Cecil
Pepper was in charge of the
devotional and the study was
"lifted shades bring glad-
ness" ending with a poem
"Show others what Jesus can
do". The members were
reminded of the
Presbyterial at North St,

An afternoon of quilting
was enjoyed along with the
January meeting of the
Marion Ritchie Eyening
Auxiliary, at the home of
Mrs, Duncan Scott, on
Tuesday.
Mrs. Scott presided for the
meeting opening with a
poem on courage and a
hymn, Stand up For Jesus,
Mr. Alec Miller gave the
scripture lesson in Story
form basing it on the
seventeenth chapter of the
book of Psalms. Mrs. Scott
led in prayer.
An interesting reading
"What have you kept from
Christmas"? given by
Mrs. Carter Kerslake was
enjoyed. Eleven members
paid their membership •
President, Mrs. Alec
Miller presided for the
business when the 1980
programs were reviewed
and a discussion held on
gaining new memberships.
Mrs. Norman Harburn
conducted a contest on
spices. After closing with the
Lords Prayer in unison, the
remainder of the afternoon
was spent quilting. •
