Marauders at home while on
Monday they travel to
Goderich.
Bowling scores
In their only start of the
week, the Hensall Sherwoods
crushed the Parkhill Mer-
chants 10-4 Thursday in
Hensall.
Leading the way for the
home squad was Jamie
Caldwell with four goals
while Steve Knight added
two counters.

first period as Rick Ingram
scored unassisted with less
than two minutes gone in the
game.
The other Sherw,00d's
goals of the period came
from Knight and Caldwell.
Knight, Fred Campbell and
Tony MacDonald added the
assists.
Following a Merchant
score late in the period the
Sherwoods struck for
another three goals.
Caldwell found the range
for his second score of the
game with help from Knight
and Brian Campbell.
The Sherwoods scored
their only powerplay goal of
the game with Jim Ferguson
finding the range, at 13.31.
Ingram and Lloyd Allan
assisted.
Hensel' struck for their
fifth goal six minutes later as
Fred Campbell connected on
passes from. Ferguson and
Knight.
The Merchants edged their
way back into the game as
they scored their second goal
but this was nullified by
Knight's second goal of the
game. Murray Connelly and
Fred Campbell assisted.
The final two goals of the
period were scored by
Parkhill.
In the final frame, Cald-
well notched his third and
fourth goals of the game with
a pair of assists from Fred
Campbell and a single helper
from Knight.
The last goal of the game
came with only 52 seconds

coming week for the L-f club
is. Friday night when they
meet the Cambridge Hornets
at the Ilderton arena. Game
time is 8.15 p.m.

The second annual South
Huron Hockey League All-
Star game proved to be a big
success as over 400 area
hockey fans attended the
game played Friday in
-Zurich.
Benefitting to the tune of
about $1,000 from the
proceeds of the game was.
the South Huron Big
Brothers Association,
Winning the second annual
affair by a score of 5-4 over
the Sduth, divison was the
North division.
Leading the way for the
winners with two goals each
were Steve Knight and Rick
IIngram of the Hensall
Sherwoods.
The other / North goals
were picked by Gerald
Weido of the Zurich
Buckeyes, Ken Vanos of
CCAT, Brian Taylor of the
Exeter Mohawks and Ed
Niewick of the Ag. school.
Scoring for the South
squad were Allan Bressett of
Kettle Point, Cecil Nickles of
the Centralia Marauders,
Ron' Lockhart of the Parkhill
Merchants, and Dave Sharpe
of the Thedford Browns.
Considering that the game
was an exhibition contest the
game was on the rough side
especially in the third period
with Taylor of the North and
Nickles of the South being
sent off for fighting with only
38 seconds left in the game.
Referees Irvin and Ford
and Jeff O'Brien handled out
a a total of 17 penalties in the
game.
In Saturdey's loss to
Cambridge, the lets scored
three of their four goals in
the third period.
Ed Parkinson was the first
period marksman for the
Jets ,on a three-way effort
with Steve Proctor and Rick
Banks.
In the third period, Bruce
Reddick, Ed Robb and
Brian Johnston put the puck
into the Cambridge net.
Hugh Mitchell and Randy
Kraul each picked up two
assists. Getting one assist
each were Rick Banks and
Ed Robb.
Bill Wells topped the
C4mbridge scoring parade
with a hat trick. Scoring in
single fashion were Don
Wells, Paul Salvisburg,
Ralph Hoppiayouri, Drew
Haldane and Mark Thiel,
Dan Murray in the Jets net
faced 59 shots while his
mates fired 27 at Bob
Blanchet at the other end of
the rink.
Gary Brown and Jim
Pearson each scored two
oals for Chathem in the 7-0

Thursday the South Huron
boy's basketball teams
resumed action when they
journeyed to Goderich for
games there. All three teams
suffered defeats; the
midgets 66-30, the junior 62-
21 and the seniors by.a closer
score, 29-24.
The seniors played, in the
opinion of coach Terry
O'Rourke, their best
basketball thus far this year,
Utilizing an , effective 1-3-1
zone, the Panthers tied the
Vikings 15-15 in the first half.
The game continued to be
close until the final' minutes
when Goderich sunk 'several
foul shots to ensure their
win.
Leading South Huron both
ways was Doug Hoffman
with nine points John Byrne
and Matt McClure added
seven and six respectively in
this low scoring, defensively-
oriented contest.
The junior game was a
rather lopsided affair. South
Huron was unable to develop
any degree of offence
one goal pacli were :Brian
Dronibolis; Al Figgins and
Brian Hind.
Cam Fink was in goal for
his first full game for the
Jets, He has been signed to
Rec tourney
on weekend
Eight teams will be
competing in a,• recreation
hockey tournament at the
South Huron Rec Centre this
weekend.
The first game starts
Saturday morning at. a.m,
and games continue until 10
p.m, in the evening.
Sunday's schedule begins
at 9 a,m, and concludes at
about 3 p.m, ,
rtepresentipg the Exeter
rec league will be Pfaff
Electric, Algoma Tire,Dash-
wood Tigers and an all star
team from the three
remaining clubs.
Visiting teams will be from
Lucan, Zurich, Seaforth and
West Lorne. The Lucan rec
team won a tournament last,
against the Goderich press
until the second half.
Leading South Huron in the
scoring department were
Doug Fischer and Brian
Horner with 9 and 8 points
respectively.
In midget play, South
Huron was again out-
matched as they were more
than doubled by theGoderich
team. However, the team
continues to show their
ability, to score as they
managed 30 points against
the Vikings. John Remick
had 13 points to lead all South
Huron scorers, Mike Glavin
had six points and George
Tomes added five,
Friday, the South Huron
seniors travelled to Sir
Frederick Banting High
School in London for a game.
The team played well in the
first half managing to stay
.within six points of the
Broncos.
However, poor defense by
the Panthers and good
outside shooting by Banting
combined to give the
Broncos a 52-36 win.
